i agree.. cardinal is a good guy to have coming off the bench as a 6th or 7th man. However, he's not worth his contract, and isn't a good fit with the grizzlies considering the players/logjams they already have.
There's no way he's even close to top 20, or for that matter, top 50, imo.

Imo, Cardinal was the worst FA signing of the offseason.
I thought maybe i was wrong, seeing how it is Jerry West and all, but so far this season he's just further clogging up the pf spot. They already don't have enough time for Swift, who should be playing more. I was under the impression West was going to trade swift, and im guessing that's still what's going to happen. But i still don't understand the contract or the fit with the grizzlies.
My guess is that Swift is still going to be traded. He's only playing as much as he is to raise his trade value. Once he's gone, Cardinal's minutes will increase signficantly.

I don't think he can be traded. From Larry Coon's FAQ ...

In addition, teams cannot trade players under the following circumstances:
* When the player is playing under a one-year contract and will have Larry Bird or Early Bird rights at the end of the contract. Note: This includes first round draft picks following their fourth (option) season, who accept their team's qualifying offer for their fifth season.
That's what Swift did, signed the qualifying offer right? I thought so anyways.

Swift can't be traded unless it is a S&T next summer. We are happy with our rotation. In fact 10 man rotations effectiveness should be kicking in in about 10-15 games.
