Now, what we need to do, is figure out what has happened since last year that would cause Kobe Bryant to shoot worse and Dwayne Wade to shoot better.... tell me if you come up with anything.

Kobe is still a good shooter w/o Shaq, but there's not doubt he relieved some pressure. I think by the All-Star break, Wade will be around 48% and Kobe around 42-43%

It is time for him to start practicing more often or resting. His turnovers will probably go down as the season goes on. He's still gaining a sense of familiarity with his teammates and I think as he begins to understand their tendecies, the turnovers will go down. There are also times when he's way too passive and tries to force passes. Sometimes, he needs to be more selfish (I never thought I'd say that) and attack the basket rather than trying to force a pass into Mihm or Odom. Too many careless mistakes on his part.

Right now, I always hear reports of him taking practice off to heal. I think that's probably the best way to go. There's a good chance his FG% might slip even lower, but he needs to get close to 100% as quick as possible to be more effective on offense. Once the plantar facitous goes away he'll be able to practice more and his shot will improve. That's how he improved his shot in the first place: through repetition.

Its pretty funny to see the tables turned now. It wasnt ok for TMac fans to blame the rest of the team, but it will work for Kobe right?
Get real.

Ah, so true. So true. There has been a lot of hypocrisy since this season started from the real die-hard Kobe fans, but I've chosen to stay away from it.
Kobe is just proving that one guy can't do it all and can't win games all by himself. People will point to last season in Orlando, but not the other 3 where Tmac carried sorry Orlando teams to a respectable record. Not to mention the team Kobe has now has a lot more talent than any of the Orlando teams Tmac played on.
Of course, Tmac "has no rings" so obviously he is not just as good as Kobe.

Except the Lakers still have a winning record in the tough west.
Tmac had all those loses playing in the east, and he's proving he's a loser again on the Rockets even with Yao Ming.
So it's not like the Tmac arguments.

This is exactly my sentiments concerning any star like Kobe, TMac, Ray Allen, etc.

In essence it is the same, but all those who like to consistently bash Tmac won't be able to recognize that.
And the Rockets situation isn't all that much different than Orlando. As soon as Yao leaves the court, the other guys out there aren't much better than what Orlando had last year and it isn't like Yao has been bringin the thunder when he is in the game.
All that talk about the next Kobe/Shaq has abruptly ended because while Tmac can arguably rival Kobe, it is more than obvious at this point that Yao is nowhere in the vicinity of Shaq.

It's unfair to judge T-Mac's situation, just like it's unfair to judge Kobe's. Kobe is playing better right now. I think most people will agree to that. But, T-Mac is on a new team! Not only does he have to get used to just as many new teammates, he's also got to get used to a new city, new fans, and a new arena.

I actually cursed at Kobe a lot when Shaq was there and I personally don't like the guy's game, but depends on what you mean by overrated:
Look he's no Jordan, but is playing like an all-NBA first teamer. For SG right now it's between him and Allen. Just because Seattle has been playing lights out, I'd have to go with Ray Ray but who know if the Sonics can keep it up. Don't think the Laker organization could ask much more from Kobe at this point as again he's played well. If his FG WERE up around 50% that in fact would be Jordanesque but like I said I for one didn't expect that from him
I'd be real worried about injuries to with Kobe if I was a Laker fan. With all the deep trips into the finals he's probably played an average of atleast 20 extra games over the last 5 years. That adds up to about a season and a half plus no Shaq means more burden on Kobe, plus coming out of high school more games early in his early years= lots of risks for injury. Kobe's young but his body has got a lot more strain on it then most players his age usually have

I said he's a good shooter, I never said his % is good. And if you deny his shooting prowress...I don't know what to say in response.
