Well this is comparable, because this is Kobe's first year with his own team and T-Mac's team all were at .500 or hovering around it in the East no less. It's not like he was willing Orlando to 46+ wins a year.
Look when R-Star wants to interject T-Mac into the discussion, I think 1-16 speaks volumes, considering the East was the worst it's ever been last year. The West is the strongest it's ever been and the Lakers are 10-7 (should be 11-6, how they lost to the Bulls, I'll never know). Still a 9 game difference dude. 6-11 now. So many excuses and yet so few results.

Hindsight is 20-20. Before the season, everyone and their mother predicted Orlando in the playoffs and even Minstrel predicted an ECF run. I think you guys believed that team better than it was. Don't worry, you'll come around when Houston is in the lottery and Orlando has a chance to go the 2nd round. It may take a while for you to finally recognize that T-Mac just isn't winning anytime soon, but you'll see it and you're franchise will be better off for it.

They've also got a talented team. Much more talented than any of the Orlando teams, as I've already said.
Seems like Kobe people only have the losing streak last year to point to anymore. And anyone who is realistic and can look into all the reasons for it can recognize pretty easily it was for the most part an aberration.
Kobe is in the same situation as Tmac was ... playing great, leading a mediocre team to a mediocre record.

So you think Kobe is an averge shooter in the NBA? Seriously? There's 360 players on active NBA Rosters. So, you're telling me if there was a shooting contest, Kobe finishes around 180?

Right now he's shooting horrible, yes. You said so yourself. I've thought him to be a pretty good shooter in the past. I don't think he could have gotten worse so he's either shooting really bad because he's in a slump or because he doesn't have shaq on his team. I'll give it the rest of the year before I decide which.

Well if you're talking about now, then yes I agree. But my comment about him being a good shooter was based off of what we've seen over the years, not what we've seen this season (especially after the plantar facitous).

The wins arent realy the argument Im trying to get at though man, Im trying to point out that as soon as Kobe started to slump, Kobe fans started pointing fingers at his teammates, which is what TMac fans did last year and got called out for it.
Im not calling records into view, just the fact that I dont understand how its outrageous for TMac fans to blame his teammates last year, even though they were all a bunch of scrubs, but its perfectly ok for Kobe fans to do so this year, even when he has a good supporting cast.

Tmac had all those loses playing in the east, and he's proving he's a loser again on the Rockets even with Yao Ming.
So it's not like the Tmac arguments.

This is where you don't get your facts straight. The lakers may be in the "Tough" west, but through 17 games, have you seen the Lakers schedule and which teams they have beaten?
Denver - Win
Utah - Loss
San Antonio - Loss
New Orleans - Win
Atlanta - Win
Memphis - Loss
Orlando - Loss
Houston (Without McGrady) - Win
LA Clippers - Win
Phoenix - Loss
Chicago - Win
Milwaukee - Win
Sacramento - Loss
New Orleans - Win
Milwaukee - Win
Chicago - Loss
Golden State - Win
What a tough schedule!
Even more impressive, they lost to the worst team in the East
There is nothing impressive at all about the Lakers winning record. All of their wins have come against bad and mediocre teams
I guess their most impressive win so far this season has been against the Clippers...and that's not saying much

Shobe's Stance
I am impressed by how Kobe has played this season except for FG's i assume those avgs will catch up to the 44 or 45 percent by season end...
the rest of his game has been excellent...
his D has never been better... he is playing a great all around game
i have been saying for yrs hes one of the L's best playmakers and he is proving it this year
as for the team...
they are a completely newly assembled team that is 10-7 and has shown potential to get better and better in an EXTREMELY competitive west...
the FG raises small concerns, but other than that I am very impressed with Kobe as a leader and player... i think by the end of the season a lot of the haters will have a case of lock jaw
and this is simply comparing kobe to kobe not MJ or anything so dont jump on me... i would say though that Kobe is clearly clearly, let me say again, clearly the best perimeter player in the game.

whos pointing fingers at his teammates... the team isnt playing bad they are average right now, little above, and they are newly assembled so theyll definatley improve...
lets wait till the season end to compare kobe as a leader to how tmac was, but i doubt it should be much of a debate... although people will always find reasons to get on kobe

Well atleast Kobe is ready to be a leader and it is a job he wanted while on the other hand, McGrady was forced into carrying the Magic as a 21 year old who was used to coming off the bench, and had Grant Hill sitting on the sidelines every year
It's no big secret on who will be the better leader
