Antonio Daniels - Not a one year fluke
I keep hearing how Daniels is having a 'career' year etc....stuff like that. Well let's take a look at his stats last year compared to this season. My theory is that he is as good as he was last year, cept he is just getting more minutes because there is no Brent Barry and Ron Murray is injured.
This season - 12.6 PPG, 4.5 APG in 27.9 MPG
0.454 FG%, .327 3PT %, 0.756 FT%.
Last season - 8.0 PPG, 4.1 APG in 21.3 MPG
0.470 FG%, .362 3PT%, .842 FT%.
The points per game is pretty close if you equal the minutes per game....but assists would be higher last year. FG%, 3PT%, and FT% all higher this year. Assist to turnover ratio both amazing this year and last.
Really when you take all things into consideration, he is as good as he was last year. Ever since he joined the Sonics, he has been playing great ball. This seasons play by Daniels has been great, and this post is not a knock on it at all.....but I hardly think it is a one year fluke, or a career year for Antonio. He did essentially the same thing in 2003-2004.

Rick Adelman on Danny Fortson...
"Fortson, that's all he does - makes free throws and pushes."
Danny Fortson in reference to the anonymous Sonic who tattle taled to the Seattle-Times...
"I think somebody on this team might have girlish characteristics that need to be turned into a man. Because if we're going to win, we need warriors. We don't need girls. Girls are for the dance team."
Fortson also said "he wouldn't doubt it" if there were a gay player in the NBA but hopes he's not a Sonic.
"That would be a bad deal," Fortson said. "He might want to keep that one in the closet."
