George Karl....what a moron
Anyone notice this guy on ESPN? There was a segment on Lebron vs. Kobe. Him and another commentator were discussing different aspects of their game and who they thought was better. George picked Lebron in all categories except for the very last topic of who he'd choose to have on his team now.
He stated " Unfortunately, I have to pick Kobe." Wow
What a moron.

Well, he has the skills to be at the top of the league. However, his personal problems and relationships with other players outside the court are quite the distraction, which leads to team tension, unhappy player morale, etc.

I don't mind Karl as an announcer. He basically said he personally likes one player (Lebron) more then the other but is man enough to admit that the other player (Kobe), even though he doesn't like him, is likely a better player.
Dude's being honest about his gut emotions about player but doesn't let his cloud his reasoning.
Basically it's the way I feel about both guys. I personally don't care for Kobe's game and I love Lebron's game (I don't know them personally so I can't comment on them as people though all the crap that seems to swirl around Kobe is bothersome). So if I was starting say an expansion team I would pick Lebron. "Unfortunately", I do still admit though if you had to pick a game to win I would take Kobe right now. Nothing wrong with that: I don't like the guy but I'll give him his due

i watched that last night. what is so bothersome about that? kobe is like the new allen iverson, there just seems to always be something. but his talent is not to be denied and he wins games, therefor it makes perfect sense for GKarl to say 'unfortunately'. especially when factoring in GKarl's other rant about modern players having too many distractions. kobe's entire life is the NBA soap opera of the moment.
i mean really, we just expect and allow this behavior because it's kobe. replace the names kobe and karl malone in this latest story and it's the most ridiculous thing ever:
(from wire reports) Cuttino Mobley made public his feelings about Magic star Grant Hill yesterday, saying that because of Grant's alleged flirting with Cuttino's little sister at the Magic's annual Halloween party in October he wishes management trades him immediately. "He was dressed like a cowboy, and my little sister, who is just so cute and adorable and innocent, was dressed like a cowgirl. She seemed to be giggling a little too much when Grant pulled his toy gun out of his holster. I don't think it's fair to the other players and to the fans that he goes after this girl. I hope he never plays for the Magic again."

Just remember, Goerge Karl is doing what the producers tell him to do.
