My argument for Nash not being on the list is not his talent level, but I just don't see why Nash should be considered foreign anymore. Yeah he plays for Canada in the Olympics, but does any American really view people across the border as that foreign? We have similar cultures. He's lived in North America most of his life and has played in US cities for most of his NBA career.

Come on...stop insulting me...I just disproved your point to set Nash in front of guys like Gasol, but you idiot you just did it.

Yes, because what you said is 100% fact.

I actually agree with you that Nash is overrated based on the concepts you described, but I'll stand by ranking him at #2.

He is the best PG in the league this year. Yes, he makes his teammates better. How well did they perform when he was injured, 0-4?, with subpar performances from just about everyone not named Joe Johnson?

Gasol is their franchise player because of his size. It's difficult to even put him as a top 5 player at his position, however. I only ranked Gasol over AK because I feel he is a little more complete offensively, and his team is playing really well with him as one of their primary scoring options.

I did forget about Ming.

I would put him behind AK47 and above Manu.

I'm sure there's alot of Canadians that would be insulted by this. Especially the Quebecois.

Well I am Canadian and I'm sorry to offend other Canadians. Don't get me started on the Quebecois though....I have not had good experiences to say the least when I have been in Quebec.

Yes, Nash is wayyyy overrated. I mean, he can't even dunk.

Before he came to Phoenix, they were 29-53. (12-22 with some guy named Marbury on the point.)

This year, they are 30-6 with that "role player" running the offence, averaging 110 ppg.

Oh, yeah, and they still managed to score 84.5 ppg without him, and were actually in a couple of the 4 straight losses they suffered with Nash on the sidelines.

(Yes, a lot of credit has to go to Q-Rich, too.)

Heck, I didn't think Nash would make that much of a difference. I thought at the time Phoenix overpaid for the guy.

At the time, I was wrong. It doesn't mean I can't change my mind.
How old is Nash? How many years in the league? Am I supposed to think this is his breakout year? The team that Marbury was on had Jake Tsakalidis starting and Marbury also went to the playoffs the previous year in a much tougher WC with a rookie Amare and Tsakalidis in the frontcourt and 2nd year Joe Johnson as his backcort partner.

It's probably because they are emulating the french culture. Of course they really don't like us either (no offense intended). LOL

That's the thing though. It's not French Culture. It's not North American Culture. It's some mangled version of the two and then they feel so superior about it, it makes me sick.

For this year you have to give the No.1 spot to Steve Nash. He's turned a last-place Suns team into a championship contender.

Dirk maybe a more valuable player than Nash, but for this year Steve is a legit MVP candidate.

Peja is still a better player than AK47. He's having a down year but he's still one of the most dangerous scorers in the league.

Gasol still needs to improve his defense, but as he starts to play more minutes his scoring will go up. This guy can be nearly as much as mismatch as Dirk is for the defender.

Too many people are saying that Yao is overrated now he's actually underrated.

My rankings:

1. Nash
2. Dirk
3. Peja
4. Pau
5. Yao
6. AK47
7. Parker
8. Big Z
9. Manu
10. Radmanovic

No he did not...

He was a missing piece, but he did not turn anything around.

Why are people so dumb...?

The difference between 31-5 and 0-5 doesn't sound like a missming piece to me. It' more like a cornerstone, at least for this year.

Look how the Nuggets struggle without Voshon Lenard...

Would you consider him a cornerstone of a NBA franchise ? No...

Nash indeed more important to Phoenix than Lenard to Denver, but not significantly at all.

Nash is a key role player slash borderline all star.

Giving him the MVP would be the biggest insult to this prestigous trophy.

How insulting would that be to a guy like John Stockton, who was really on the greatest. Stockton was a superstar for years, but never won MVP. How the hell can someone give it to Nash.

Do you really think Nash deserves to be on a list with these guys:

2003-04 Kevin Garnett
2002-03 Tim Duncan
2001-02 Tim Duncan
2000-01 Allen Iverson
1999-00 Shaquille O'neal
1998-99 Karl Malone
1997-98 Michael Jordan
1996-97 Karl Malone
1995-96 Michael Jordan
1994-95 David Robinson
1993-94 Hakeem Olajuwon
1992-93 Charles Barkley
1991-92 Michael Jordan
1990-91 Michael Jordan
1989-90 Magic Johnson
1988-89 Magic Johnson
1987-88 Michael Jordan
1986-87 Magic Johnson

1972-73 Dave Cowens
1971-72 Kareem Abdul-jabbar
1970-71 Kareem Abdul-jabbar
1969-70 Willis Reed
1968-69 Wes Unseld

1959-60 Wilt Chamberlain
1958-59 Bob Pettit
1957-58 Bill Russell

I don't think so...

Nash is as overrated as it gets.
