Re: Pistons vs. Suns tonight
I was suprised how much poise Phoenix showed down the stretch. They proved they were the superior team. Nash's execution down the stretch was masterful. They beat the Pistons playing Pistons basketball in the final 4 minutes.

I dont consider the rebounding for the suns since they lose that battle to everyone they play, thats par for the course. I was reffering to the 11-20 on 3s 14 dimes for Nash, and Amare and Q goin off against a team that usually holds them well below their usual #s

Re: Pistons vs. Suns tonight
Seriously, can someone tell me why NBA refs suck so bad?!?!
GReat game to watch, but too bad for that blown call considering the ref was right there.
Who knows what would have happened but I still think Pistons > Suns, considering this game was in Phoenix and the Suns still don't know how to rebound. Well they know how to, but they just lack size.

I don't think anyone proved they were a superior team. And at no point in the night where the Suns playing Pistons basketball. I thought if anything the Pistons were trying to play like the Suns for most of the night which was most of their problem.
The Suns got a third of their points from the 3-point line, and hit them at all the right times. It was a good win for them, but I don't know if getting destroyed on the glass and relying entirely on the 3-ball is really something they can hang their hat on.

Almost every Sonics home game I do most of my yelling at the refs. I bet that they can even hear me sometimes from my seat way up in the Key Arena upper bowl. Unfortunately, there is not a lot we can do about inconsistent officiating. It has become an integral part of the game.

I am probably gonna get hung for this because people will assume I am bias and if you read my posts I am one of the most objective people here. But I think up till 4th qrter the Suns slightly didn't get as many calls their way as the Pistons did. Pistons got away with some physical play and some calls too. It was almost balanced. But I mean it's not like it caused us to win overwhemingly or like you guys didn't have a shot. You had a 10 pt lead and control at one point.

Re: Pistons vs. Suns tonight
Dissonance, up until 7 minutes in the 4th quarter, the Suns only had 8 team fouls.
The refs totally swalloed their whistles allowing the Suns to beat up McDyess and Prince was thrown around like a doll in the post.

Well, the Suns get out-rebounded on average by 2.43 so I would say that today's game (out-rebounded by 19) wasn't quite "par." And yes they did shoot better than normal for 3-pointers (average: 38.5%, today: 55%), but I don't think that compensated for how bad they did on the boards. I have watched every single Suns game this season and I can say pretty confidently that this was at best the Suns "B" game.

Re: Pistons vs. Suns tonight
Yeah, and the first 3 qrters there refs swallowed the whistles, cuz there were no calls on Pistons for doing it too. I am not one to blame things on refs but there were calls that coulda been made each side, that weren't. Suns also didnt really have that many FT attempts.

I thought the calls were consistantly baffling for most of the night, and even made a comment in the Pistons game thread after the 3rd when they were up 10 that I thought it was a poorly officiate game.
There was a play earlier in the game where Amare bowled over Ben Wallace, stopped, looked at the ref waiting for the offensive foul, after about a second saw it wasn't coming and layed the ball in.
It's the Pistons fault for making the officiating a factor though. That game shouldn't have even been close.

Re: Pistons vs. Suns tonight
I think NBA refs stink because they don't all officiate the same. It's time to set what is and isn't a foul, what is blocking, what is charging. No more of this intepretation BS.

Re: Pistons vs. Suns tonight
Fts are one thing, loose ball fouls are another. And I'm as unbiased as you can get.
You brought up the first 3 Qrts, but the Suns only had 8 team fouls until halfway through the 4th including the first 3 qrts obviously.
