Re: Pistons vs. Suns tonight

At halftime there were very few fouls and the Suns were 1-3 from the free throw line. This game was not dominated by the refs for a change. Frankly, its refreshing to watch games that are not being stopped every other trip down the floor because of some lousy calls on incidental contact, many times initiated by the offensive player. Let the guys play. Keep them from killing each other, but let them play.

Fine, but you have to make that blatant travelling call when the game in on the line. That blown call changed the outlook of the entire game.

Not going to post about the refs anymore.

You brought up the first 3 Qrts, but the Suns only had 8 team fouls until halfway through the 4th including the first 3 qrts obviously.
You make a good point. It sucks that a game like this gets tainted cuz of certain officiating. Hopefully, nothing like this happens when it really matters. Good luck to your team down the stretch.

Re: Pistons vs. Suns tonight

NBA refs suck as a whole, but what's up with bringing up Phoenx's free throw attempts. The only one attacking the basket was Nash and when he did he was looking to pass. You're not really going to get fouled on jumpshots.

This is just my interpretation: Amare got hit pretty hard on that play knocking him over a step. Both he, and I believe one of the Pistons, looked up at the ref expecting a call. When no call was given Amare took another step and scored. I think that instead of calling the foul the ref just let the play go on, and thus didn't call the travel since it was partly caused by the foul. Refs do that sort of thing all the time. It's no different than when refs wait to see if a basket is made before calling a foul. Again, just my opinion.

Re: Pistons vs. Suns tonight

I think the Refs didn't call traveling on Amare because the reason he traveled was because he was fouled. If he didn't score they probably would have given him a foul.

The pistons always get away with a ton of physical play, and this game was no diffrent. Whenever the refs want they can just start enforcing the rules, and the Pistons will go on a losing streak. It's pretty funny how that works.

Also I thought there were a few times where Sheed, Rip, and Larry should have all gotten T'ed up. Is there a team that *****es more as a team to the refs?

good game. Phoenix can execute the PnR just as good as Parker/Duncan. Nash and Amare high pick and roll was unstoppable in the 4th.

After that, Rasheed walked towards the ref screaming, and swinging his fist, I was surprised there wasn't a technical.

I don't think the Suns can do the same with their 11-20 3 point effort.
Listen up if you think that the Pistons rebounding is on par for themselves (which it's not... 20 isn't going to happen everytime buddy) then you have to at least admit that the Suns three point shooting is on par for the season.

I looked at the box scores and this is what I found out. The Suns have hit 8 or more 3Pointers in 41 of their 58 games. Which is roughly 70.6% of the time. They average 9.3 3Pointers MADE per game. Furthermore they've hit 15 or more at least 6-7 times this year. Eleven is nice for the Suns but it's not anything to get excited about.

Another interesting statistic. The Suns rank #1 in the NBA in 3Pt
percentage, to add they've taken 200 more 3Pointers than the team (Toronto) that ranks second in 3Pt percentage. Further they hold their opponents to the 5th worst 3Pt percentage in the league.

People just can't face it that the Suns beat the best defensive team in the league. And what do you all resort to for the umpteenth time? Complaining about the Refs. Geez.

Why would they give him a technical? He was complaining about a call that was blatantly wrong, and the refs knew it was the wrong call (don't tell me they didn't see it, they just let him off because of questionable physical contact with Pistons players). The refs probably learnt what they did wrong after giving Sheed a technical for complaining about Francis' 5 step travel in the Wiz game, and then calling a travel on Lindsey two step a few second later.

What do you mean people just can't face it? Most of the posters acknowledging the poor refereeing are by unbiased posters who prefer other teams over the pistons. And Noone is claiming that the games outcome was purely decided by the refs.

What I mean by people "can't face it" is that in almost every Suns vs. Insert Team there is a mention of officiating being the difference of the game (in the Suns benefit). Some recent examples:

During Suns vs. Celtics:
I haven't been watching the game. But I took one good look at the officials and saw Violet Palmer... No doubt she has something to do with it... She's the worst official in the NBA... By far...

Following the Dallas-Suns game:
that wasn't a block and you know it. Dirk was fouled. There is no way you can convince me dirk is going to miss a dunk attempt with the ball coming out of his hand and the ball just hits the rim. He got hit on the arm.

During the Suns-Sonics game:
...how about all of the Calls that the Sonics should of got but didn't..

Following the Suns-Sacramento game:
WOW WHAT BLOWN CALL , IT WAS A GOAL TEND , YOU CANT CAMP UNDER THE RIM AND HIT THE BALL AWAY WHEN ITS AT PEAK OF ITS FLIGHT .... WOW , replays showed it , Refs just left .... what a no horrible call...
(PLus about 5 bagillian more posts)

---
Is giving the Suns credit just too hard to deal with?

(by the way two of the games I mentioned the Suns lost... but posters made comments about Suns favoritism during the game when it was close)
