Neither.
Only difference is Iverson didn't lay down as long as Tayshaun. I think AI got up so quick, because he knew if you lay down too long in the Palace someone will throw something.

i have a question for detroit fans-why are you guys so angry? your team is good, just won a title. is it just because you are in detroit?

i am offended by that kind of comment sherako. Detroit is a great place to live and to say that the fans are classless is a horrible idea.

The difference is everybody knows Philly fans are the worst fans, they booed Santa Claus, anybody who does that is heartless, lol. People still denying Detroit fans as being classless are blind homers, or are classless Detroit fans who don't want to call themselves classless.
They cheered when AI was hurt, Larry Brown signaled to the crowd to stop it, and the announcers knew it. Detroit fans need to admit that the fans at Detroit games have done some very classless things this season, and stop defending everything.

Well, I can honestly say I've never thrown anything at the Palace, and I'm pretty sure no other Pistons fan at these forums has either. Yes, every team has classless fans, but it seems like its been the Pistons that have been singled out this year. I don't cheer when someone gets injured, I don't trash other teams, etc. I know some classless Pistons fans (from school), and trust me, they annoy me like none other. When all they do is constant hating on other teams, it gets really annoying. But I don't do anything like that. And that's why I hate it when there's threads like, "Is it okay to call Pistons fans classless?" "Why do Detroit fans suck?" because not every Piston fan is classless, not even fan sucks. Lots of people single out entire fan bases because of a couple incidents, and that's just not right IMO.

Well I had like 10 different people tell me it. Any unbiased people see it?
|
Well I may not be unbiased, but I was at the game. The crowd was loud as it was a pivotal point in the 4th quarter and the 76ers had just turned it over and then fouled in order to get a stop in play. Were the fans cheering loud when he was down? Yes. Were they cheering loud because he was down? Not likely. AI has been nothing but respectful to the Pistons all series in his post game interviews and his ability to not make a big deal out of the quarter throw. I think the fans quieted down when they saw AI on the floor.
But I get really angry when people say Detroit fans are classless because a fan threw a quarter at AI. One guy threw ONE quarter - how could security conceivably stop a guy from pulling a quarter out of his pocket and throwing it? It's not like the fans were out of control and there was no security watching him...there are just some things that are out of control of the Palace security. I think that even though ONE fan threw a quarter, it can be overshadowed by the fact that MULTIPLE Pistons fans were disgusted by the actions of this drunk fan and pointed him out to security to get him escorted.
Are there classless Pistons fans? Of course...but I'd like to clear up that a majority of the fans are classy, knowledgeable fans of the NBA and their Pistons. Every team has a couple of idiots -- just because we have the title doesn't mean you have to focus on ours.

Re: Is it now ok to call Detroit fans classless?
A couple things: Pistons fans aren't classless because one fan threw one quarter, it's a pattern of behavior that keeps happening and happening and happening and happening and happening...I think (hope) you get the point. And of course all Pistons fans aren't classless. Of course most of them aren't classless. But it seems fairly obvious to me that there are many more cases of these classless fans of the Pistons than of other teams. Every Piston fan isn't classless, but a higher rate of them are than compared to other fans. That's the point.
