If the Rockets ever get a a brain...
They can become an elite team in this league.
Unbelievable! Right now the Rockets are a microcosm of what the modern NBA is all about, a bunch of athletes than could probably dunk on 12 foot rims but on the other hand have absolutely NO BASKETBALL I.Q. and NO BASIC FUNDAMENTALS.
Griffin, Mobley, Francis, Cato and Posey are some of the most flat out UN-intelligent players I've ever seen on a basketball court.
Memo to Francis: Watch videos of Jason Kidd, Magic, Isiah, Cousy, Cheeks, Dennis Johnson to see how the point guard position is played because right now he clearly has no idea.

I've had the same opinion about them since the beginning of the season.

I doubt it's venting...
...everything in his initial post is true.
Well...might still be venting, but that doesn't make it any less true.

Tell me about it...tomorrow I go to the America West Arena to watch them play against the Suns, I am really excited but, on the other hand, I feel really pessimistic now and I am afraid we might have our butts kicked again...we're going down...

I like Steve Francis, I think the guy has a lot of talent but right now he needs to learn how to utilize it correctly.
He has to understand that the ball HAS TO going into Yao Ming on EVERY half court posetion, no IF'S, AND'S OR BUT'S!!!
A 7'6 center that demands double teams and has great passing skills is one of the RAREST luxuries and every Rocket player needs to understand that.
As far as the other players go, the Rockets have to implement a bonafied fast break game if the ever want to get signifant contributions from Griffen, Kato and Posey, these guys are non factors on the half court but they at least have speed and can finish.
If I were Rudy T I would instruct the team to look for the fast break after EVERY defensive rebound, if it doesn't happen set it up for Yao at the other end.
I hate it when young teams decide to run a slow down offense.

A slow down offense would be fine with me if they KNEW how to run it, but they obviously don't so they should try to speed things up a little.

I feel more calm now. This game at least convinced me 1 thing. Yao Ming's a big-game player. He steped it up on every national televised game. And he's super cool in the clutch. That's the sign of a great player in the making. His teammates simply need to adjust to him not the other way around.

Forget it. Steve Francis is probably the worst PG in the NBA at running the fast break unless he finishes it himself.

A slow down offense would be wasting one of the few atributes this team has, YOUNG LEGS!!!
People just don't understand, half court basketball is ALWAYS gonna be there as an option while the fast break are oportunities that don't present themselves as often so you gotta take advantage of them when they appear.
But here' lies the big question, can Steve Francis lead a bonafied fast break attack ala Jason Kidd? To be continued...

Yeah, let's focus on the positive, Yao's game is stepping up big time in important games, and that's only his first year, that's a great sign for the future, he must eventually become the franchise guy in this team.
