Re: Ok, lets change the pace of the monotony here...
One thing I have learned at BB.net is people generally don't know anything about young role players nor do they want to discuss them! This is probably why your post has had 30+ veiws with no responses! Some people have the "superstar syndrome" around these parts and they really don't follow basketball enough to know who the young role players even are. But anyways Ill give it a shot!
GF Kirk Snyder, New Orleans Hornets
Best case: starter who lives up to the hype he had when he was drafted
worst case: a repeat of last year
SG Matt Carroll, Charlotte Bobcats
best case: Kyle Korver
worst case: Matt Carroll
PG TJ Ford, Milwaukee Bucks
best case: overcomes injury and see Kirk Snyder
worst case: Moe Williams beats him for the staring pg position and he becomes a 1st round bust.
GF Jarvis Hayes, Washington Wizards
best case: becomes starter and second scoring option on team
worst case: poor man's Wally Szczerbiak
FC Chris Wilcox, LA Clippers
best case: see Kirk Snyder
worst case: never even competes with Brand or Chris Kaman for starting position
PG/SG Shaun Livingston, Los Angles Clippers
G/F Boris Diaw, Pheonix Suns
F Ndudi Ebi, Minnesota Timberwolves
PF Michael Sweetney, Chicago Bulls
Darko Milicic, Detriot Pistons

Re: Ok, lets change the pace of the monotony here...
PG/SG Shaun Livingston, Los Angles Clippers
My boy from Illinois. He's destined for great things....if he can play a whole season.
BCS: Magic Johnson putting up Jason Kidd-like numbers.
WCS: He continues injury bug and becomes the Yatil Green of the NBA.
G/F Boris Diaw, Pheonix Suns
I bought into the hype of Diaw, and I'm not going to stop now.
BCS: Bruce Bowen
WCS: Ummm....Boris Diaw?
F Ndudi Ebi, Minnesota Timberwolves
This pick really came out of nowhere and I haven't heard much from him since he got in the league.
BCS: sixth man and decent third option.
WCS: Johnathan Bender.
PF Michael Sweetney, Chicago Bulls
I was a YOOGE fan of Sweets coming out of college. I think he can be a great contributor.
BCS: Diet Elton Brand. I like what he can do.
WCS: Jerome Williams.
<!-- / message --> Darko Milicic, Detriot Pistons
He's impressed me this preseason, lets hope that he comes out of his shell under Flip this year.
BCS: Dirk Nowitzki with more defense, less offense.
WCS: Nikolos Tskisvili. (that one guy the Nuggets drafted in "01/02")
PG Chucky Atkins, Washington Wizards
SG Derek Anderson, Houston Rockets
SF Flip Murray, Seattle Supersonics
PF Matt Bonner, Toronto Raptors
C Joel Pryzbilla, Portland Trailblazers

Re: Ok, lets change the pace of the monotony here...
Guess its just you and me on this one!
PG Chucky Atkins, Washington Wizards
I believe he will be missed in LA. He was a good pg who could shoot.
best case: What he did last year with a depleted Lakers team, but understands his new role
worst case: pouts about not being the starter and becomes a cancer
SG Derek Anderson, Houston Rockets
Man....what happened to DA?
best case: Becomes a starter and compliments McGrady and Yao to a championship.
worst case: Gets injured or doesn't play defense and rides the bench all year.
SF Flip Murray, Seattle Supersonics
Flip is one of my favorite players! I hope he gets some court time so he can get his big deal.
best case: As much as I would hate to see it, Allen or Ridnour get injured and Flip becomes a starter and lights up the league than becomes a free agent and goes to another team (LA Lakers ).
PF Matt Bonner, Toronto Raptors
I've been watching him the Raptors this preseason and he has looked decent, but Charlie Villanouva will take a lot of his minutes!
best case: Provides the Raptors with a rebounder and high energy player
worst case: Let's Araujo beat him out in the rotation.
C Joel Pryzbilla, Portland Trailblazers
I thougHt coming out of school Big Joel would be a decent NBA big man.....I thought wrong!
best case: lives up to the hype he had when he was drafted (13ppg 10rpg 3bpg)
worst case: what he has been doing (4ppg 5rpg 2bpg)
PG Dan Dickau
SG Jamal Crawford
SG/SF Mickael Pietrus
PF Stromile Swift
C Nene Hilario

Joel Pryzbilla - haven't seen him play.
PG - Tony Delk, ATL

SF - Ira Newble, CLE
PF - Brian Scalbrine, BOS

Re: Ok, lets change the pace of the monotony here...
Has looked very shaky initiating the Celtic offense so far and couldn't guard a rocking chair.
Best case: Starts hitting a few shots and plays some meaningful minutes and helps the offense by bringing a true PG.
Worst Case: Ends up being such a defensive liability that his limited offensive output is no longer worth his being on the floor.
Disgusting contract, brutal shot selection, and atrocious defense. Actually, to say "atrocious" D, that would insinuate that it was existent.
Best case: LB gets through to him, tries on defense, improves shot selection, and becomes an asset.
Worst case: He stays being Jamal Crawford.
Have only seen him play once or twice, so I am not in position to properly evaluate him.
This could really be his breakout year. We've seen some thunderous dunks and some huge swats. Should see significantly more than 20mpg with the Rox, hopefully can grab some more boards.
Best case: Becomes a force on the boards (8+rpg), and continues to play good D and get his on the offensive end.
Worst case: He doesn't improve at all and thus doesn't help the Rockets a whole lot.
Lots of potential. Pretty much the best and worse case hinge on how he uses it.
PG - Jameer Nelson
SG - Dahntay Jones
SF - Hakim Warrick
PF - Mike Dunleavy (ok, he's not a 4, but I want opinions)
C - Kendrick Perkins

- Salt Lake Tribune
"I think he is at a point in his career where he gets very distracted by having a hand in his face."
- Portland forward Buck Williams on Larry Bird, before Larry Legend dropped 49 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists in a double overtime win

Re: Ok, lets change the pace of the monotony here...
PG - Jameer Nelson
Maybe there is a reason he slipped in the draft. He can manage a game, but he's seems inconsisent.
BCS: Starting point guard, not a star but maybe the occasional all-star appearance in his prime.
WCS: Shorter Jeryl Sasser
SG - Dahntay Jones
Love the kid. Questioned why he didn't play early, but is poised to make a great impact on the Grizzlies. Lockdown defender.
BCS: A cleaner, better offense Bruce Bowen.
WCS: Bruce Bowen before San Antonio.
SF - Hakim Warrick
Flat out crazy. Should have gone higher. I like this kid, too.
BCS: What Stromile Swift was supposed to me.
WCS: Stromile Swift in '02-'03.
PF - Mike Dunleavy (ok, he's not a 4, but I want opinions)
Too soft for someone his height. Puts up 15, but gives up 20. No bueno.
BCS: Learns some defense and becomes a player a la Poor man's Dirk.
WCS: Keith Van Horn
C - Kendrick Perkins
Enforcer! Very physical. Dude isn't a star, but is a good role player.
BCS: A rich man's Marc Jackson (without the jumpshot).
WCS: Umm...Kendrick Perkins rookie year (?)
PG Carlos Arroyo, Detriot Pistons
GF Greg Buckner, Denver Nuggets
GF Josh Childress, Atlanta Hawks
GF Trevor Ariza, New York Knicks
PF Macej Lampe, New Orleans Hornets

I can't believe you just compared Nelson to Sasser... dear lord... And there was no reason he slipped.
