how many games? 5? 6? per game averages mean very little at this point.

LeBron also plays fewer minutes. Coach Brown said one of his biggest priorities this season was to cut back James' minutes to keep him fresher (which in turn helps him play more efficient basketball).

Re: Lebron James rebound and assist average have decreased nearly 50% from last seaso
He's not playing that much. And right now when he is playing, he's more of a finisher right now, while the the team adjusts to their offense. Expect both his assist and rebounding numbers to go up later in the season as the comfort level with the team goes up and as he plays more games that aren't blowouts. The Cavs have blown out 3 of their opponents. They got blown out by San Antonio. The loss to Memphis was the only thing approaching a close game. Also a lot of his turnovers could easily turn into assists as the season goes on. Not that Lebron probably gives a flip so long as the team is winning. I don't think this years Cavs team will be a great team for fantasy stat hounds. But they could win a lot of games.

Sharing ball duties with Hughes, and playing less minutes. Were you expecting a huge increase in assist and rebound numbers? His final statline should be somewhere around least years, or slightly below last years. Unfortunately, his on the ball defense didn't seem to have improved much thoguh. In the games I've seen, he and Hughes are still jumping at every ball they see.

It comes and goes. It's coming more often than in the past though. He's actually getting a hand up more often on shooters, which is part of Brown's system. And he's definitely not letting people drive on him as much as he did in the past. I would say he has improved, but sometimes he backslides, and Brown catches him on it. Work in progress. He wants to make a diffrence on defense, but he isn't patient on defense yet.

26 ppg, 50% FG, 41% 3FG 87% FT while playing nearly EIGHT minutes less per game than last year.

Hey John John, have you seen Lebron going to the basket more this season than ever before? He's attacking the basket with reckless abandon, and he's not even using pick and rolls. He's just blowing by his man.
