Re: Desagana Diop, remember him?
Who cares honestly? People on this site love non-scoring stats for some reason. It's why Kirlenko and Dalembert got so overrated and guys like Wally, Walker and Francis so hated, I'm sure if Courtney Alexander or someone got signed and has a 31 point game no one makes threads like this.

Re: Desagana Diop, remember him?
Interesting tidbit about Eddy Curry, he's only averaging 2 rebounds per game less than Tyson Chandler.
And his numbers squash Erik Dampier's. Who I believe actually plays more than Diop does.
Of the high school disapointments of Kwame, Eddy, Tyson, and Diop--Eddy is clearly the best one and had the best overall career. Tyson never got off the bench until the Bulls got rid of Curry and Davis and all other frontline help. Eddy was starting even under Bill Cartwright. Kwame has been in and out for his entire career.
As far as Diop, compare Diop with the guys Danny Ferry replaced him with: Donyell Marshall and Alan Henderson. Cleveland really isn't missing Diop's presence that much.

Your'e right. Only scoring matters.

If Diop dropped (get it? Diop dropped? ok I'll stop...) 31 pts tonight I would've made the same thread.
And I don't hate Francis 'cuz of his defense, I hate him 'cuz of his offense.

Re: Desagana Diop, remember him?
Please bump this thread at the end of the year and we'll see how much he'll have contributed.
His offensive deficiencies will make it so Dallas just won' be able to pay him that much. He always did this in Cleveland: gave us a tantalizing glimpse in the early part of the year and then he would slowly but surely dissappear as the year progressed

Re: Desagana Diop, remember him?
Eddy Curry is garbage because he's the worst defensive big man in the league....Mugsy Bogues could post him up......
BTW, Diop made the game saving block last night and so far he has impressed me a lot...He's still very young I think he will be a starter someday....

Re: Desagana Diop, remember him?
Out of all the HS bigs that year I would have to say my ranking goes as followed...
1. Tyson, He may be sucking a lil this year. I haven't been following his stats too much, but I do remember last year he was a hella good defensive player.
2. Curry, BUT and this is a big BUT. I would only pick him 2 IF he would agree to come off the bench and not complain. As a starter his defensive skills are horrible but as a bench player his scoring would give the 2nd unit a nice lift. IF he isnt willing to play as a 6th man I would say he drops down to number 4 on this list.
3. Brown, I know he is a big bust and hasn't dont jack with the "fresh start" in LA, but theres something about his game I like. I know he still has tons of potential and MAYBE one day it might just click for him.
4. Diop, If the last game wasnt a mistake and the guy can be a defensive stud. I would say he is number two on this list. How many teams have a center that is that big and that athletic?
