Jerry Krause is an idiot. At least that's how this move turned out.I understand why you gamble a pick on potential, but it boggles the mind how you can trade an absolute certain allstar calibre player for a complete unknown that can not be known for years.

Re: Remember this comparison?

Well, Brand, as most stated, has always been a 20/10 guy while being a very good post defender. Like i said many many times, he is finally getting kudos due to Clippers not sucking.

Amare in the other hand, I think still has plenty to improve on, the guy was pretty much unstoppable with limited experience and coaching. Rebounding wise, he is not great yet, but can you blame him to average under 10 with Shawn Marion next to him.

Looking at Amare's improvement from season to season, if he can add into his repertoire from last season, I dont see why he wont surpass Brand. But Brand definitely has been the more steadier player, and finally getting attention he deserves.

Re: Remember this comparison?

It's easy to kick a guy around while he's down. And this makes perfect sense a guy like Koko would like to kick around Amare after he destroyed Duncan in the playoffs last year. He dominated Duncan unlike anyone has done in Duncan's career. Amare is only 21 years old... he's by far not even seen a glimpse of his best years. He'll be back and better than ever.

Re: Remember this comparison?

I still think Amare is better than Brand. Amare will be (provided he recovers from the injury) a HOF caliber big. I can't say the same for Brand.

Amare (04/05) - 26.0 PPG - 8.9 RPG - 1.6 AST - 1.6 BLK - 55.9 FG% - 36.1 MPG - 26.6 PER

Yeah, last season and those people were quiet. This is next season when Amare's not playing. Why bring it up now and compare 2 different seasons? It's more convenient to do it that way.

No telling what Amare woulda done this season. Some predictated 28-30+ season and I'm sure his rebounding would increase just a bit.

One on one, even one on two, when the guy they call the Answer is on a one-way trip to the basket, you better just foul him. People can hate all day about the number of shot attempts. But, damn, give him props for even getting them up. He's small enough to have every shot contested. That 39% shooting sounds terrible to the regular reader, but have you seen these NBA players lately?"

Re: Remember this comparison?

id pick brand over amare (i do like amare too). well brand is brand you just gotta love the guy for his hard work and plus look who's hurt (injuries saddens me). you cant really compare potential over facts. i mean who knows, amare would have a flop year this year or a better one but we know that brand is playing good bball as always.

It makes perfect sense a guy like you flips out over something like this. Where did I kick around Amare? Tell me. This thread was just a FYI for those who laughed and laughed at us who thought Brand was going to be better than Amare last season, and I sure as hell didn't kick around Amare.

As far as Amare scoring all over Duncan, yeah, I saw the same thing partner, but I'm a Spurs fan, not a Tim Duncan fan, so all I know is that Phoenix got eliminated and the Spurs won the championship. I'll take 25 PPG and a championship over 37 PPG and an early exit.

NEWSFLASH: You're the one who STARTED a thread to compare individual statistics. You cannot just ignore Amare's performance just because it hurts your argument.

But if you want to argue team performance, I'll take last year Suns' 62-20 over this year Clippers' 50-32 pace.
