Re: Remember this comparison?
I thought that it was Horry and Mohammed who guarded Amare for most of the time and when Duncan guarded Amare he totally shut him down. I could be wrong but I'm quite sure.

Re: Remember this comparison?
I dont see why Horry and Mohammed would guard Stoudemire since TD is one of the best defenders in the league.

Lol... then who was Duncan guarding? Since Bowen guarded Marion then according to you Duncan must have guarded Q-Rich or Joe. That's beyond ridiculous.

Re: Remember this comparison?
So you're saying that Nestorovic guarded Q-Rich?

Re: Remember this comparison?
Amare got most of his points on dunks from pick and rolls and free throws and a few jumpers. He didn't score much on duncan by facing him and taking him to the rack.

And as for the Suns 15-10 record this year... a lot of that has to be contributed to the players that weren't on the team last year which consists of Bell, Diaw, Thomas, Jones, and House... all of which have had a tremendous impact on the team this year. Just because teams like Houston suck when one of their star players is out doesn't make Amare any less valuable just because the team is pretty good when he's out too.
Koko admit it.... you're bitter. You were very wrong about Amare last year and now that he's injured you want to slight him. So what if Brand is having a great 25 games or so. First off if I remember correctly the season is 82 games long and Brand could either decline or get hurt. By the way the origional intention of the Amare-Brand thread wasn't to see if Brand would ever match Amare's 3rd year numbers. Congrats to him for finally reaching Amare's status in his 7th season. Too bad when Amare comes back Brand will be left in his dust.

I would love to be bitter about my hometown team winning a championship.

Hehehehehehe. Bitter. Listen partner, I'm a Spurs fan. I live in San Antonio, I've lived in San Antonio longer than Tim Duncan has. I'm a Spurs fan. The Spurs won the championship. I'm happy. Amare put up great numbers against Duncan, and I gave him all the praise he needed back when that series finished, but at the end of the day Amare and his 37 PPG packed their bags and headed home for the summer. Meanwhile, Duncan was winning the NBA Finals MVP, thank you very much. I'm not bitter one bit tempe, typical Suns fan who suddenly came alive when the Suns started winning last season. At least Amareca was reppin his boy from day one, that I'll give him props for. I'll give you props because you've stuck around and faced the music, but you still have a twisted look on things. I'm not the least bit bitter playa. Amare's got nothin on Duncan right now, and the Suns don't have anything on the Spurs either. Until one of those two changes, I won't be bitter with you my friend.

Re: Remember this comparison?
I've always thought Brand was the better player.
Amare has to rely on somebody to make him a great player. Brand is just flat out a great player.

No telling what Amare woulda done this season. Some predictated 28-30+ season and I'm sure his rebounding would increase just a bit.

Look at who Brand had for a point gaurd last year.. mostly RICK BRUNSON and a little Marco Jaric. Who did Amare have STEVE NASH.
Hmmm who is gonna get you way more easy buckets and good looks.. STEVE NASH or RICK BRUNSON.
I'll take NASH. Thats why this year is more comparible for BRAND with AMARE's last season. The pg comparison is closer, that being said I'd still take NASH. Also the Phoenix suns play run and gun its easier to get the stats just ask guys like Jones and House.
I'll take BRAND.
