For fun, I'd rather play with Nash. If I wanted to win, I'd rather play with Kobe.

Re: Nash is the same player he was in DAllas

The emphasis on what? Having Nash run the plays. The playbook is just a piece of paper. The sucess is because it's a simple yet very effective way of playing basketball. In layman words D'Antoni tells you to RUN the court, try to set yourself ans Nash will find get you the ball. Not exactly Winter's triangle right?

D'Antoni is a great coach i'm not taking anything away from him, but his biggest accomplishment is HIS CONFIDENCE in the players, more so than his coaching. You're not a Phoenix fan so you're probably not that aware of that aspect, but there hasn't been a single player who's ever said anything negative about him as a coach. In today's sports that's remarkable. The same thing for Nash. Have u every seen anyone trying to diss him, someone from his own team.(now Kobe, that's another story)

Stockton played in another ERA. Where the quality of the players was much better than today's. I'm not going to compare either of them, because it's clear John is the second best PG of all time.

MVP isn't for best player in the league.

And what is KOBE exactly winning this year? 3-4 games over 500. An accomplisment!

How can you promote that while keeping a straight face and trying to diminish Nash's impact is beyond me. But you're doing a good job at it. I applaud you for that!
Ah come on, don't tell me you take Sir Kobe's-as-good-as-MJ-on-D Patchwork seriously?

I respect everyone's opinion, just like I expect them to respect mine.

Sir Patchwork just happens to be stubborn and with people like him it's like trying to argue politics or abortion on an internet forum. You really don't get anywhere. But it's nice to share different perspectives.

To be fair, you're just as big of a Nash homer as I am for Kobe. So the playing field is even.

Then I have no problem with Nash winning, although I'd like to hear what the MVP actually is supposed to represent.

And you say Stockton is clearly the 2nd best point guard of all-time, so like I said in this thread or the other one (can't remember), that Steve Nash winning two MVP's would mean one of three things.

1. Nash is the second best point guard ever.
2. Today's league sucks.
3. MVP has become a joke award.

Take your pick.

MVP stands for most valuable player, not the best player.

Sure. And Lamar Odom would be a superstar with Nash, and Amare Stoudemire is just a chucker without Nash. Haha. And you only think I'm obsessed with Kobe because you hate him and I like him. In reality, you're just as big of a Kobe hater as I am a homer, Mr. "I always root against Kobe".

Then LeBron James is the MVP. He has the most value of any player, for now and definitely for the future, and is still on a rookie contract. He is a top 5 player making 3 million a year from his team. He draws crowds and makes the NBA a ton of money.

That would be the most valuable, no?
