Re: What I Need to Say About Lebron B4 I Lose My Mind...

Probably mistook bad free throw shooting for choking. Lebron is getting down to San Antonio Spurs level free throw shooting. He's not quite down to Shaq level. But he's getting suspiciously Duncan on his free throws the last two months. I mean, he's not just missing free throws in the fourth. He's consistently missing free throws all game. SOme times he'll hit both. SOmetimes one, some times, he'll clang both. Considering how many times he gets fouled and goes to the line, he's leaving a ton of points on the board. Probably about 5-8 points per game that he's flushing because he can't make free throws. That right there is the diffrence between a guy averaging 30 and a Kobe-like 38. Kobe doesn't miss free throws. Whether the game is on the line or not. Because it's the easiest points you're going to get, and when you're as good a shooter as Lebron is, there's really no excuse for it. Though there have been times where Iverson has gone through similiar slumps. And any Celtics fan probably remembers that one playoff run, where Paul Pierce couldn't buy a free throw.

Lebron > Kobe.
Exactly if you break it down...

Kobe is better offensively:
He's a much better scorer, from inside and out, it's no comparison Kobe is better.
LeBron is a better rebounder, but is also bigger, which would make u expect that.
Passing wise, I think it's a push, LeBron is highly overrated in this aspect.

Defensively:
No explanation needed, LeBron doesn't guard big time guards. Kobe does. Kobe is head and shoulders better than LeBron on D.

Intangables:
Kobe will and has taken big shots, and made them. He's been in big playoff games. LeBron has done none of the above. Kobe is clutch, LeBron isn't. The kid didn't hit game winners in high school, and he's yet to do it in the pros. Prove something to me LeBron....

So yea.......LeBron is obviously a better overall player than Kobe. [/sarcasm]

Why? He is one of the best passers in the league. He puts a ton of zip on his passes. He can throw them at all angles. And because he is 6-8 he can see the floor better than most players in the league who play the point guard role. Most players just can't phsyically make the passes that Lebron makes on a game by game basis. Even if they could actually see the passes. And I don't think anyone in the league throws the skip pass as well or as often. Most teams have to take at least three passes to go from one side of the court to the other for the open corner three. The Cavs can do it in one pass, and usually do. Lebron just chucks it from one corner to the other, and it hardly ever gets picked, even if he's fading away into the first row.

Shaun Livingston can see the passes that Lebron sees. But you can see the diffrence in their passes. Lebron can thread the needle a little better than Livingston right now. Lebron is like a John Elway type passer/player.

Re: What I Need to Say About Lebron B4 I Lose My Mind...

in all seriousness the difference in scoring ability between ppl like kobe lebron and tmac and bench scrubs would be about as big between those on their schools top team and those on the third.

the only difference between the upper tier and the role players is they are slightly more efficient due to their repetoir.

i mean did u see that game where turkoglu scored 30, u could have thrown a knife at the ball and it still would have gone in.

practically everyone under 6'6 in the nba, if u gave them an open 25 footer they would hit it 9 times out of 10.

why do u think the pacers still managed to win any games last season of the brawl.

that is the reason why i dont rate kobe as highly as anyone who averages over ....-6-6. on that team he is the best scorer, but he gets so many touches that the statement is true "if u get 28 shots u could in most cases score 39pts."

i didn't hate his game back in 02-03 when his numbers where superior across the board in terms of fg%, rebounds, assists. and while his current need to take 30+ shots a game i can accept due to the circumstances of his team, i dont understand why he should be rated by his fans to a completely superior level than a guy who has 44-11-7 nights, or at the least averages 2more rebounds and assists anight without compromising 31+ a game point production.

and cambyblockingyou, i'd have 1200 dollars if u gave me a buck for every time u slighted lebron or made his achievements seem less significant then they are. its all that ever comes out of ur mouth, i atleast recognise kobes talent, but give reasons for why i prefer lebron. all u do is knock lebron

Isn't it kinda ironic that a Cleveland sports star would get compared to John Elway???

Re: What I Need to Say About Lebron B4 I Lose My Mind...

I really don't even understand why Kobe came up in this thread. This thread really has nothing to do with Mr. Bryant. It really has more to do with LeBron and all the nonsensical and unwarranted criticism that he tends to receive. While I agree that the same this can be said for Kobe, this thread is not actually comparing the two nor dealing with cricism directed towards him.

actually, I saw LeBron in person the day after he won Mr Ohio as a sophomore...

and I know that he did have some close games, so don't try to act like he blew out everyone.

Kobe is certainly not much better, and it's debateable that he's even better. Kobe is scoring more, James is scoring (a lot, himself) at a higher efficiency.
