Do coaches argue w/ the refs pursposely to get ejected? Larry Brown got tossed in the 3rd quarter against the Lakers last night. I've seen it done too many times in the past so they could avoid the embarrassment of having to coach the rest of the game when there is no chance at winning b/c their teams r being trounced.

Well Frank Layden said once in an interview that he would do it. he also said the refs know this, and usually tell the coaches that if they (the ref) have to sit through the game, so does the coach.

Plenty of people intentionally get technical fouls, players and coaches, if they're down big points and don't want to be involved with the rest of the game. Sometimes players and/or coaches will get technical fouls in an attempt to get their team/teammates riled up.
