MVP is not only about personal and team accomplishments, it also has a LOT to do with media buzz and which player is making the most noise. With that said, AS OF THIS POINT its either Lebron James or Kobe Bryant. Brand is a solid player and he is putting MVP type #s but he has not made a lot of noise to garner attention. Nash does what he always do best..but compare his MVP season as to this season, he is overshadowed by Kobe and only a few people is throwing up his name for MVP considerations. The league is about marketing its stars..if their going to give an MVP award to a soild player which a lot of people has never heard of..then whats the point?.

That would be my logic too, but since people consider Steve Nash a candidate, then Brand has to be in there too.

Listing kobe at 1 would only be done by a Kobe homer, which you are. Kobe is probably number 5 on the list of MVP candidates behind 1 - Nash 2- Timmy or lebron 3 - dirk 4- Elton Brand 5 - kobe... Kobe wont get the mvp if the lakers don't make at least the 50 wins mark. It's good to be a homer sometimes... but not that much...

I am glad you don't have any facts to prove me wrong because listing kobe at #1 in MVP candidates is simply ridiculous.
Let me ask you this?
1- Does kobe have better numbers than Nash, Elton brand, Lebron, Tim Duncan, Dirk?
2- Does kobe's team have better record than the cavs,suns,clippers,spurs,dallas?
3- Are the lakers one of the ( i'll extended it for you) top 5 teams in the league?
Yeh i am a vince home, but not the point where i'll put him number 1 on the list of MVP candidates..

That's the way it looks like right now. LeBron I believe has a great chance of knocking Nash off by the end of this month. Cleveland's already won 7 straight and their next 11 games(barring Heat&Spurs) are against mediocre to bad teams.
