Theres a reason LeBron doesn't almost EVER guard big time scorers at any point of the game. I love the excuse that "Newble is the Cavs best perimeter defender, so he guards the best wing", well.....what was the excuse last night? Wade guarded LeBron about 1/4 of the time along with Posey (1/2) and Payton (1/4)...Kobe is one of the best defenders in the league, Melo guarded LeBron in their matchup, so why doesn't LeBron step up and guard any of these guys, among others?

Newble never was the best perimeter defender. Hughes was.

What you posted here is what I am talking about. Wade is a solid defender yet different defenders were still thrown at James. LeBron guarded Kobe during the Lakers game down the stretch. In the previous game against the Heat, LeBron checked Wade on several possessions. But much like Wade in last night's game, he isn't the main defender on the opposing star (in your own words, if Wade was on James 1/4 of the time, then 3/4 of the time meant somebody else was on LeBron). Why does one player get a pass for that and not another?

Because stats don't tell a true story on who is a better defender. You just have to watch them withing the flow and context of the game. Someone could have 4 blocks and 5 steals and still be a crappy on the ball defender. Some of those stats come from random occurnaces and/or help defense or playing passing lanes. Either way you cut it when watching Bron and Wade in the context of the game...Wade is a better defender.
