Re: Chris Paul is an All-star
Why can't you have Tony Parker and Chris Paul on the all-star team. both of them deserve it!!!
Tony Parker should definitely make it, I believe he's a lock. Chris Paul should be on it also. That would leave Baron Davis out. Too bad Bdiddy...you goin' Sizzler!! Ray Allen might is an all-star player, but his team hasn't done too good with a guy like Rashard Lewis. Chris Paul seems like he deserves it more than Baron davis, J-Rich, and Ray Allen.
How many reserves are there? 7?
Brand, Dirk, Gasol, Melo, Tony Parker, Chris Paul, and Matrix
I had to leave off Garnett, I'm not sure why. Garnett should probably make it every year, but his team sucks so you got to give it to Melo or Gasol. Brand and Dirk are locks. Tony Parker is a lock IMo. Melo plays with so many good players and his team record is barely above New Orleans. That's why I believe Chris Paul deserves to be there among other things. Chris Paul is playing with a supporting cast as bad as Kobe's and they have a better record. Matrix needs to be there because he leading the west in rebounding and averaging 21 ppg. Those stats you can't deny.

I agree for the most part, however I think KG will make it before Carmelo. I mean, at the end of the day, KG not making the all-star team would be a minor travesty. Who cares what his team is doing, he's better than Melo is, and no NBA coach is going to say otherwise. If the Wolves offered the Nuggets KG for Melo straight up without any considerations about the salary cap, the Nuggets wouldn't even think twice.

Re: Chris Paul is an All-star
Paul is having a fantastic year, and deserves just as much as any other player to get into the All-Star game...but it's highly unlikely. Which is pretty sad to be honest.

Re: Chris Paul is an All-star
I hate Tony Parker. Everytime I see him I wanna slap the **** out of him. And yes, Chris Paul deserves an all-star spot this year. I would not have believed that the Hornets could win 20 games looking at their roster at the beginning of the season. It's amazing what he's done for that team.

Re: Chris Paul is an All-star
I think coaches would give it to veterans who haven't been all-stars than to rookies. I don't think Michael Redd deserved to get in over LeBron during LeBron's rookie year but senority probably had a lot to do with it. You really have to be Tim Duncan or Shaq to make it your rookie year.
Damon Stoudamire and Steve Francis were also in the class of Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas their rookie years too according to some people. People always omit things when it's convenient to the argument. Yes, Paul is doing great but you can't compare him to the greats just yet.

The problem with these two examples are turnovers. As near as I can tell Steve Francis seems to hold the record for turnovers by a rookie PG,both total and per game.Stoudamire committed a similar number too.So far Paul is around the top five in Assts per Turnover. His numbers are comparable to Billups' numbers in this regard. Stoudamire played on a horrible team,Paul plays on a team that was horrible without him.Turnovers are very often the difference between winning and losing and all the more so when your roster doesn't include any all star caliber players who can make up for your mistakes.Paul has made a lot of good things happen for the Hornets without killing them with rookie mistakes.
In fact I am starting to wonder when the last time a rookie made a similar impact upon a team.Magic was the difference between a playoff team and a championship team.I think the Bulls improved 11 games in MJ's rookie season and the Cav's 18 games in Lebron's first season.I am not so sure the subject interests me enough to go through all of the examples.Of course Duncan's rookie season came after the Admiral returned from injury and Shaq played for Orlando when they were still a new franchise. So it would be virtually impossible to use numbers to compare situations that are extremely dissimilar.
