The refs are given far too much power to call a technical foul. Look at Joey Crawford or whatever his 1st name is. Whenever players are ready to scream at him, he Ts it up. Here's AI who simply laughs at the ref and he Ts him up for that too.

Yeah that's taking it too far...nothing worse than a ref with a big head.

LOL, please. These guys would get laughed at by NFL players who go out there and play rough ball for non guaranteed contracts for significantly less money.

They're paid millions to go out and play hard. This league is much much softer.

It's a good thing this isn't the NFL then...because if it was, all the players would be leaving for the NBA!

Well that was my point about Eddie Curry. All he did was look at Chris Mihm and they called a taunting tech on him...lol

Once i saw them call a tech on JR Smith tonight for talking to Devean George while he shot a jumper that did it for me. The constant rule changes have screwed the quality of NBA ball completely over.

I just can't see a ref honestly giving a foul for little stupid things like this...something must have been said or done to make the ref blow the whistle...the camera can only catch so much of the game.

Re: Has the NBA become too soft?

It's almost as if the refs just love to hear the sound of their own whistle... Whistle whistle whistle for every little thing. It's probably the biggest flaw in the NBA game... It slows everything down massively, and now one on one defenders have virtually dissapeared.

You probably didnt see the game, but thats exactly what happened. You know JR has been riding the pine, so he wasnt in the game, and D. George was shooting a 3 pointer in front of the Hornets bench when JR was saying something as he was shooting, and again, it was a taunting tech.

I know it sounds hard to believe, but thats the way I felt when i saw it.

Notice Mutombo can't wag his finger at players anymore after a block.

I could go on, but you get the picture.
