Re: team USA - 22 players according to espn.com
No Like Ridnour is the most Nash-like PG that the USA have, he is clearly the better PG for Team USA.
You can quote me on that and insult me if you want but obviously the team of NBA experts and insiders that chose the players thought pretty much the same.
Iverson will probably not even be allstar quality anymore by 2008.
PS: I actually have an Iverson jersey and like him but that doesn't change the fact that Iverson is not much of a team player and rather poor PG, extremely overrated in general. Iverson is a great scorer and dribbler that's what he is.

Josh Howard, Luke Ridnour, Shane Battier, Rashard Lewis and Brad Miller are among those going to training camp with Team USA. Lamar Odom and Allen Iverson are not.
|
I like how Lamer Odom's name gets put next to Iverson's like he's worth a damn.
Odom was on the Olympic team in 2004, but he suuure isn't a snub for the next squad, nor should be treated like he is.

Re: team USA - 22 players according to espn.com
USA Basketball needs a new logo badly. That thing's more outdated than the Clippers' logo.

For those, like me, too lazy to read the article.

If I'm picking the team this is it:
G - Chauncey Billups/Gilbert Arenas/Chris Paul
G - Kobe Bryant/Joe Johnson
F - Rashard Lewis/Shane Battier
F - Amare Stoudemire/Elton Brand/Antwan Jamison
C - Brad Miller/Dwight Howard
That would be my 12 man roster and we win. We can run the floor, shoot the 3, penetrate and rebound. Anything less would be uncivilized.
Having Lebron, Wade, Melo and all these guys would suck.

Re: team USA - 22 players according to espn.com
James/Ridnour/Paul
Bryant/Redd
Lewis/Marion
Stoudemire/Brand
Bosh/Miller/Oden
There is no way Lebron doesn't make it and 1 of the college/highschool guys.

Wow Marion wouldn't even make your rotation? Behind Lewis and Battier?? You might be the only person on this planet to do that..

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks that Rashard Lewis is absolutely PERFECT to play against international competition. Long, rangy, hits anywhere from 5 to 35 feet away from the basket, and everywhere in between, can pass, dribble, and run an offense.
That said, I pretty much agree with that lineup.

Re: team USA - 22 players according to espn.com
I would rather not see Kobe and Lebron on the team though, I'd prefer just one of them if at all but we all know both are going to make it most likely.
