Re: Webber...USA Team should be for winners..
he's basically saying he wanted to be selected, but the olympics is for winners, which basically eliminates his own self off the list...

"I do think that one criteria is that you should have won a playoff series," Webber said yesterday. "How are you going to compete if you haven't played in a playoff series, or you haven't gone to the Final Four or Sweet 16 or anything like that?... You're going to learn on the biggest stage of the world."
|
Haha. I do think one criteria is that you have to have functional legs. Plus, Webber will be 35 in 2008, and even worse off than he is now. His birthday's actually today, so he should know how old and even more crippled he's steadily getting. Happy b-day, big guy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Lebron James the only person who meets all of his criteria? As far as not deserving to be on the team? Him and maybe Chris Bosh?

I think it's funny that he even think he had a shot at the USA team.

Re: Webber...USA Team should be for winners..
Webber = Loser.
Webber basically just summed himself up on why he isn't getting an invite.

Chris Paul, Michael Redd, and Dwight Howard are the others who wouldn't meet that criteria...

I think Paul qualifies for winning the U21 international tournament and getting the MVP, when he had just turned 19.

Re: Webber...USA Team should be for winners..
Chris Webber has no reason to be bitter, because he didn't ever have a chance of making the team. Look out how un-cordinated he is right now...add two more years of NBA seasons to that body and he will be like a billboard just standing in the lane during the Olympics.
