Have to agree. As much as I like Iverson, and as much as he utilizes his small size (speed/quickness), I have to pick Kobe, who has seemingly endless limitations.

Re: Iverson or Kobe?
How many times has Kobe scored 50 points in the playoffs?
AI has done that three times.
How many times has MJ scored 70 points? I guess Kobe and David Thompson are better than MJ then.
These type of arguments are useless because it is a small sample of what they achieved over their entire career.

IMO I think Kobe is a better player particular because of what Kobe can do on both ends although AI plays the passing lanes like few others. Both are great scorers but I have to give AI the edge as a better scorer. You can't argue with 4 scoring titles and a 28 ppg career average. Kobe is a better scorer this season but he isn't a better scorer than AI over his career. I can't believe AI won't even win the scoring title despite averaging 33 ppg. Kobe has just been an incredible scorer this season.

Re: Iverson or Kobe?
Kobe is better in every aspect except playmaking, which is a draw. Kobe is a better scorer, rebounder, defender. Iverson himself said Kobe is the best in the game, and he is Shaq's boy, so he wouldn't say that unless he meant it.

Re: Iverson or Kobe?
Its a choice of personal preference. I will go with AI just cause he has done more with lesser talent.

Re: Iverson or Kobe?
They're both incredible basketball players.
The fact that Iverson has been one of the best scorers for the past decade in a league that has an average height of 6-6, 6-7, (while saying he is 6-0 would be considered an exaggeration) is simply amazing. He can get banged up like it's nobodys business and he'll still be on the court runnin the show. The guy has heart.
And as for Kobe, well, the guy is just flat out sick. It's unbelievable how he can take over a game when ever he chooses. Kobe is just a basketball demon. His will to win is awesome.
It seems like they've been right at eachother throughout their careers (both drafted in 96). It's interesting to see the All NBA Teams they've been on.
1999
AI 1st Team ---Kobe 3rd Team
2000
Both 2nd Team
2001
AI 1st Team ---Kobe 2nd Team
2002
Kobe 1st Team ---AI 2nd Team
2003
Kobe 1st Team ---AI 2nd Team
2004
Kobe 1st Team ---AI none
2005
AI 1st Team ---Kobe 3rd Team
2006 (I'll assume)
Kobe 1st Team ---AI 2nd Team
Pretty Impressive.
These are definately my two favourite players. But if I had to choose one, I'd have to go with Kobe. If AI had a few more inches, it'd be a different story.
