Wade/Lebron--where does today's duel rank?
It's the best all court duel I think I've seen in my NBA watching life. Which only dates back to 89/90.
I mean it wasn't just scoring. They were making play in every facet of the game. They even were diving on the floor at the same time.

I am pretty young, so I'd say it is number 1 to me also.

Re: Wade/Lebron--where does today's duel rank?
This will be the most athletic duel as of know. I hope they both could get decent squads. If Lebron picks it up in the defense. I think this could be the greatest, and if they both have squads that are just good enough. They both have good character and likeability. Am not the greatest Bron fan in style of play, but he is good, but when you see Wade every day, you kind of become numb to reality. I hope both stay healthy and Bron gets his guys for some battles.

Re: Wade/Lebron--where does today's duel rank?
Jordan vs Drexler in '88 is comparable. (Though I don't remember seeing it.)
Jordan: 52 points, 21-34 from the field, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks, 6 turnovers.
Drexler: 42 points, 18-33 from the field, 5 rebounds, 9 assists, 8 steals, 1 block, 0 turnovers.
They had another one in '91-92.
Jordan: 40 points, 16-39, 8 rebounds, 7 assists.
Drexler: 38 points, 15-27, 12 rebounds, 2 assists.
Guarding each other.

What were the scores for those games? Part of what made this one so great is that in the fourth the game was on the line, and every one of Wade and Lebron's baskets and passes were ratcheting up the tension.

Portland won the first by 8.
Chicago won the second by 2. They were the two best teams in the league, and Drexler finished second to Jordan in MVP voting.

Re: Wade/Lebron--where does today's duel rank?
It would be cool if Larry Hughes comes back in form, and the Cavs can make a run in the playoffs past Detroit and play Miami in a seven game series to go to the finals. That would be an unreal series. Shaq/ZO vs. Z, Hughes/Bron vs. Wade.
The boards would blow up.

Re: Wade/Lebron--where does today's duel rank?
This one was certainly fantastic. There was a great OT duel last year where I believe TMac had 48 and Dirk and something like 53/19, but I'm not sure this one doesn't better it.

Re: Wade/Lebron--where does today's duel rank?
Oh this one ranks right at the TOP. I've never seen anything like this b4.
Closest from what I can remember is T-mac-Dirk from last season, but that lacked the overall drama and the sheer "OMG! Did you see that? " thing LeBron and Wade were giving us every few seconds in the 4th qtr.

Re: Wade/Lebron--where does today's duel rank?
Wade's circus layups and those "did he just dunk that" moves, and then everytime he did that, Lebron came down and either dropped a 3, or plowed into the lane. And that final play to win it by Lebron where he got the rebound and in one motion found Marshall on the baseline for the jam, was a thing of beauty.
What was so amazing was that the whole thing was on every level. Both guys were getting rebounds, both were diving on the floor, both were getting assists, both were making big defensive plays--it was insane just the sheer number of ways both guys were effecting the game. And in the forth when Lebron told Wade "Let's go baby" it was on.
Plus both guys have nothing but respect for one another. So it was nothing but positive vibes for basketball. That the game didn't even matter really.. just two guys out there competing for the love of basketball and for the love putting on a show. There's something beautiful about that.
