I can't front on my guys Wade or Nash either... but I would feel it would be a disgrace to the game if one of the two BEST and MOST valuable players didn't win it. And that narrows it down to either Bron or Kobe. Both don't have the most talented teams around them, they put up the most amazing numbers in the league, and those numbers actually translate to wins as opposed to someone like KG who puts up numbers but doesn't win.
In no way, shape or form am I hating on Kobe or Bron' (I'm actually a big fan of Kobe and hate Lebron), but what about Mr. Nowitzki?

He's putting up Career numbers: 27, 9, 3, 1 on 47% shooting and his team is chasing San Antonio and Detriot for the best record in the League.

He's also the only All-Star on his team.

Re: Who's your MVP?

My personal MVP is Kobe Bryant.

Lebron or Nash will win it though.

One on one, even one on two, when the guy they call the Answer is on a one-way trip to the basket, you better just foul him. People can hate all day about the number of shot attempts. But, damn, give him props for even getting them up. He's small enough to have every shot contested. That 39% shooting sounds terrible to the regular reader, but have you seen these NBA players lately?"

True that, I respect what Dirk does. Hell I like my Dirk the Diggler, and what he has been doing is amazing. This has been his best season, and as great as it is, it pales in comparison to what Kobe and Bron have been doing indivudally. But as for the success of their team? They may not have All-Stars (Well Stack used to be), but they are a team full of players who know their role and are above average players. They also have the benefit of being a unit for the past few years, and knowing each other's game. Dallas has been one of the elite teams in the league since 2001. No one expected the Lakers to be where they're at. And no one, no matter how good he was projected to be, would have guessed that LeBron at 21 years of age would be putting up 32 ppg, 7 boards, and 7 dimes a game.

Re: Who's your MVP?

All these players playing great shows what great shape the league is in right now, and how exciting it is. Imagine a season with a healthy McGrady, STAT, and Duncan putting up numbers as well?

The east was dreadful that year. The Pistons had the best record with 50 wins, and would probably be a 5th or 6th seed in this years western conference. The eastern conference had a 46.7% winning percentage that year, and it was only that good because they beat each other up in-conference. They had a 37.7% winning percentage against the western conference that year.

The Magic were 11-17 against the west. Their saving grace was a 31-23 conference record in a pitiful conference. Against this years western conference, that Magic team is probably comparable to this years Timberwolves. Giving McGrady MVP that year would be like giving it to Kevin Garnett this year.

Re: Who's your MVP?

Out of Nash, LeBron, Nowitzki and Kobe at a stretch. I think LeBron will win for a number of reasons. He's the most gifted athlete the game has seen since Jordan, and the media loves him. Nash will struggle to win back to backs, because back to backs very seldom happen. Plus the fact Phoenix realistically won't win the championship this year makes it even more unlikely. And the NBA probably wish to avoid the whole racism issue that came up with Nash winning it last season, and would surely occur again if he wins it over LeBron and Kobe.

Re: Who's your MVP?

Nash deserved it last year. But the Suns still won't win anything in the post-season, and Nash hasn't been as impressive as last year.

Re: Who's your MVP?

The logic saying that they got to win a lot of games means that the MVP should go to the best player on the best team. Hence Ben Wallace or Chauncey Billups. I don't think MVP should go to either of them. I would rather the MVP be given to either Kobe or Dirk. Suns are my 2nd favorite team(and Nash is one of my favorite players) but its the system that makes them great. Nash is like a driver who perfects the Suns.(He boosts a team from 85% to 100%) Mike D'Antoni should be Coach of the year.(Or Avery Johnson)

Kobe should get it because he keeps the youngest playoff bound team afloat.(When you start Kwame Brown, Smush Parker and Brian Cook you know you got problems.)
Dirk should get it because like Kobe, he got no all-star teammate but he has a far better record.

But I mean... Jason Terry, Josh Howard, Keith Van Horn, Marquies Daniels, Jerry Stackhouse are all above average basketball players.
