Two worst teams are Blazers and Knicks. They hired high-paid great coaches.

Great coach knows how to develop the young players;

Great coach knows how to win the games;

Larry Brown didn't pan out so well b/c the Knicks were so ****** up to start w/. How much does Bickerstaff make? He's not that high paid & I think the Bobcats w/ their young talent is making strides. I don't think poor teams need high-paid, high profile coaches but it definitely helps. The thing w/ Brown's situation is that Knicks team should have been in rebuilding mode but Brown isn't exactly the coach that is too fond w/ rookies & young players.

Yes a great coach knows how to win but a they can only do so much w/ **** personnel. I've seen Knicks & Blazers games where they showed that they could really hang tough w/ some of the better teams in the league but inconsistency is the sign of young players. Both teams are all out of sorts & lacking leadership & chemistry.

You don't need a high-paid coach. You need a coach who can reach his players and has knowledge of the game. Bernie Bickerstaff is able to get through to his players and has the ability to teach them how to play the game the right away. Larry Brown is the same way only he is with a team who will not listen. A team's lack of success isn't always the coaches fault. You need the players.

I agree with the Bickerstaff compliments, and also disagree with the overall thought behind this thread. Though they might have these supposedly good coaches, both teams were just absolutely awful. There are coaches in the single digits that can take little talent and turn it into a competitive team. McMillan and Brown are not examples of that. Try Bickerstaff, Byron Scott, Sloan, and the likewise.
