Re: Could Nash 3peat?

Nash probably should have won it the first year.

He shouldn't have won it this year.

I will be appalled at the status of our sportswriters if he wins it next year.

Even if he deserved it, he won't get it.

Re: Could Nash 3peat?

why not? 24 and 15 are great numbers, and 70 wins is something only one team has ever been able to do. Lebron will be too young, people still wont like kobe, duncan is too old, garnett will still be stuck in purgatory, tmac will get injured, dirk is not a mvp type player especially with his amazing role players.

But if he gets 24 and 15 and 70 wins i wont have a problem with it, unless someone else is playing much better basketball like this previous year.

You draw the same line at three that I did at two. You're using the same argument for three that I was using against you when justifying his 2nd. He doesn't deserve to be among said players. If he wins next year, would you take that stance as well?

Same way he can have low expectations being the one time MVP. It's strange.

I agree, and it's all stemming from the brawl of November 2004. The league has been trying to clean up ever since in every way possible.

Well I hope the best man wins. I thought this way last year, that Nash was a "cute" choice (to quote Bill Simmons) and winning two in a row would bring heavy criticism on the voting process, but everyone loves Steve Nash. If he won again, he would deny that he deserved it again, and everyone would rest comfortable in his humility. Everyone would have that "the loveable little white guy did it again" mentality.

Re: Could Nash 3peat?

It depends on how well the Suns do next season. If they end up with the best record in the West, and Amare has the impact that I think he will, then I'm predicting people will be calling Amare the more valuable player than Nash. Either way, I don't think he's winning it for a third time.

It's not my argument. I'm talking about the rational in the voters...remember selective reasoning. Nash will not win the award next year, just wait and see. I guarantee he willl not win the award and would be willing be your personal whipping boy and sport a sig and avatar of your choice for an entire year if he does.

LOL, that is true, but he won't win the award....trust me!

2007 MVP will be Lebron or Amare book it, that's assuming they are healthy.

That's a very strong team. Possibly a 70 win team, with Barbosa, Bell, and Thomas coming off the bench.
That team is scary. If Amare is back to his old self, Pheonix is gonna be deadly. I don't know about 70 wins, but I'd be surprised if they didn't have the best record in the league with that roster.

As for Nash getting MVP again? No chance if you ask me. Not because they won't let him threepeat, but because the rest of the Suns will be too good. I'm assuming they wont mess with there roster too much, so Nash won't have any new players to help improve. Bell, Diaw, Barbosa will continue to improve and possibly have career seasons again (depending on how much of the show Amare takes over), but Nash won't get as much credit for making everyone around him better because they're already pretty good. And if Amare is back to his old self he's going to be getting just as much attention for carrying that team as Nash will.

With what the Suns did during these playoffs, I think the only type of players they would need to make that team near perfect is the exact type of players that Amare and Kurt Thomas are. Next year, the Suns are gonna be goood.
