Ben Wallace vs Dennis Rodman

If you had a choice, which of these guys would you rather have on your team? Here are some career stats:

Rodman 6-8

RPG 13.10
SPG 0.67
BPG 0.58

Ben 6-9

RPG 11.3
SPG 1.78
BPG 2.21

I was a devoted Bulls fan in the 90's, so I give Rodman the edge because of his pestiness vs other players, i.e. Shaq, Mailman

Re: Ben Wallace vs Dennis Rodman

Offensively, they were similarly inept. Defensively, Wallace is a good man defender and a very good help defender. Rodman was never much of a help defender, but in his Piston days was one of the greatest man defenders. Both are great rebounders, but Rodman was still better.

You have to factor in Wallace's professional, hard-nosed play and Rodman's penchant for being a distraction and at times lackadaisical play. Overall, i'd rank them as follows:

1. Rodman (Pistons)
2. Wallace
3. Rodman (Bulls)

Re: Ben Wallace vs Dennis Rodman

i have to pick rodman for many reasons

1. his hair
2. i had a bunch of converse gear when i was lil that rodman endorsed
3. he won more and was more respectable on offense

Re: Ben Wallace vs Dennis Rodman

I'd take the Dennis Rodman who played with the Pistons over Ben Wallace now.

Re: Ben Wallace vs Dennis Rodman

Rodman was actually a decent offensive player early on in his career.

It's really not even close, Rodman blows B. Wallace away.

I say Wallace, yeah Rodman could out rebound him anyday, but on everything else, it seems as if Wallace is better.

I never lost track of Dennis Rodman in a playoff game like I have sometimes with Ben Wallace. Rodman was always a factor on whatever game he played in.

Re: Ben Wallace vs Dennis Rodman

I'd rather have Rodman. Arguably the greatest rebounder ever & 1 of the premier defenders in NBA history. Plus for the longevity of his career, his teams have a 757-359 record. A 68% winning percentage. Yes, he's been fortunate enough to have played for great teams but he also was a huge contributor for those teams in the rebounding department &a
