Do you think Stockton is........
.......a little salty that Karl Malone is still pursuing a ring without him. I mean, Stockton and Malone are like PB & J, Kool Aid mix and water, bread and meat. They were meant to be together. I think Stockton is a tad pissed that Malone doesn't retire with him. What are your thoughts on this?

Sometime you gotta mix the PB with some crackers. It makes for a nice snack. Stockton is a class act. If Karl wins a ring without him, he'll be happy for him.

Yeah, but wouldn't Malone be classy to retire with his fellow work horse? They were in the struggle together. That's like an Iraqi soldier trying to join the US army. If you can't beat then, you might as well join them. In Malones defense, I too would try my best to get that ring because for some reason, people define your career on rings.

It would be the classy thing for Malone to do, but you were asking about Stockton. They are a dou, but I think its safe to say that they were often opposites. Stockton being the good, and Karl being the bad. John would be the classy guy only thinking of his teammate, while Karl will be anxious to get another shot at a ring. It's just John's character. He's always there to deal out the great assist!

I feel that Malone is more interested in breaking Kareem's record than winning rings at this point of his career to be very honest.
Stockton has already had the assist and steal record so nothing being pissed about for him I think.
Let's see what Malone will do in the summer and we will have a clearer picture.

I've always thought that Stockton was the less stat and acomplishement oriented player. He was the consumate tema guy, and played to win, but it wasn't about the individual glory. Not so for Malone, he is very conscious of other people's perceptions of him. I don't think Stockton is mad at Malone, he probably expected this. Anyways, he joined the league a year earlier.

Malone does worry about how others think of him. When I think of Malone, I think of him as maybe the best PF to ever play. He's one of the most durable players ever. Great scorer and rebounder. His legacy is not diminished b/c he has no rings.

He's also a "A" hole, and self centered.

Malone can still play the game at an above average level. Can Stockton?

they can both still play in the league, obviously.
malone obviously has zero obligation to retire because stockton decided it was time for him to retire. the suggestion is ridiculous.

What level of a performer would you rate Stockton?
