MJ got more than 20 points per last year on a team with no other threats. He is almost 40 years old and judging by that and the fact that he was doubled often and had no help outside Rip Hamilton I think he dominated. MJ is the best player the NBA has ever seen. How long have you been watching basketball? 2, 3 years? You talk as if you think Iverson invented the crossover and Vince invented the dunk. Do your self a favor and watch some espn classic of MJ in the early days.

Please, no name calling. Thanks- Devestata

I don't understand you people. MJ comes back and averages 22 ppg 5rpg and 5apg and you guys are complaining? How does that work? Lary Hughes is not MJ's replacement as he can be moved to the point and MJ can also play the 3 like he did last year. MJ might not start all the games but he will lead the Wiz in scoreing (again) and take them to the playoffs.

Quit living in the past

MJ WAS the man. Hes not anymore. He moved to the 3 because hes not quick enough anymore to play the 2. He shouldnt have come back in the first place. He left in the perfect way, game winning shot to win the championship. Now he will be remembered for comming back and tarnishing his image. Good job MJ

Kareem played until he was over 40. In his last few years he averaged like 8 ppg. What do people remember about him? Not that he sucked his last few years. They remember him for his greatness. The same will be said for MJ. And I still dont see how averaging 22 ppg is "tarnishing his image". People should be congradulating him for playing on a sucky team and still getting over 20 ppg AND 5rpg 5apg. If this was a young player averaging these numbers you would talk about what promise he shows and how he does everything. But because it is a step down from where he was the last time he played you are talking about how much he sucks. I dont get it.

I dont think anyone said he sucks, I sure didnt. And if they did then thats just plain disrespectful. Jordan should have stayed in retirment though. No question. Its not hard to be the man on the Wizards. You could send any half decent player there and they would do the same. The only other scorer is Rip. Jordan can still put up numbers by why play off the bench? Why? He should go back to his old job with the Wizards, that made more sence. Anyways, I mean no disrespect to the man, I just think hes done as a player. He could get the 6th man of the year award but to be player off the bench on the Wizards is horrible.

How will he lead the Wizards in scoring when he comes off the bench and gets only about 25 minutes a game?!

Something that has to be a concern other than hurting his legacy, is his health. I would hate to see MJ have to go through another knee surgery. His body is probably too worn to hold up for a full 82 games. I think in addition to playing limited minutes, he should also take games off if he is experiencing any pain.

Thats the thing though. Its his job to play 82 games. He cant do his job anymore. No disrespect. Its amazing he did as good as he did last year, but come on. Its time to throw in the towel, MJ's career is long over. He is not a role player, which is what he will be asked to do next year comming off the bench. Hang em' up Mike, its been a great ride, but its over.

Sorry I got so pissed. I was mostly offended that you thought he tarnished his image last year as I thought he played onehell of a season for being his age and everything. I hope he plays well again this year and I think even if he doesn't it won't stop people from thinking of him as the greatest player of all time.
