Re: Nene vs. Verejao: Perception vs. Reality

Considering 60 big men will be starters on NBA Rosters, I have a hard time agreeing that Nene will be better than 3/4 of them. I haven't seen any part of Nene's game that would lead me to believe he'll ever be an All-Star level player. Maybe I just haven't seen enough. I don't expect Varejao to be an All-Star either but I expect him to have a more positive impact on the floor than Nene.

Re: Nene vs. Verejao: Perception vs. Reality
I think a lot of people r underrated Nene because of an injury but like i said b4 I feel as of now Nene is the better player. I do not know if Anderson Varejao has been hurt ur wut, i really have only been looking at Bulls stuff during this season and last so i dont know but his stats decreased this year from his rookie year. Im not sure about wut u guys think sometimes but i think u should b getting better every season n most of ur stats not worse unless u get hurt. If he had an injury excuse me about wut im staying but his minutes, games played, FT% apg, spg, bpg, points per game all decreased. Nene n my opinion is better than Drew Gooden and if Anderson Varejao is not starting over him by now he is not better than Nene yet. I know he has only been n the league for 2 years but to me he will get better but as i keep saying Nene is the better player as 4 now.
I believe if Nene is given good minutes and is a starter who is atleast a 2nd option 4 scoring instead of 4th like he has been except 4 his rookie season, then i c him being better/even more explosive then him n this mix http://youtube.com/watch?v=q0JBqMiIsAQ just like everyone expects Amare Stoudemire to b much better/explosive after his injury.

Re: Nene vs. Verejao: Perception vs. Reality
In my opinion Nene has never done anything that should give you the impression that he'd be starting over Gooden either, so I don't know what kinda logic would make you look down on Varejao because he does not. Cavs fans will tell you that Varejao's shoulder injury during last years off season was a tremendous blow to the team. He came back to play better than he had the year before even if his stats don't appear to show that. Fact is stats really don't say what he does for the team, not to mention Coach Browns lack of interest in getting scoring out of the 4 spot makes pretty much all of our PF's score less than they could in a different situation. I don't know if Nene has improved since the last time I've seen him play but I know that the most incarnation of Varejao is better than what Nene had been.

What pisses me off is the fact that Nene has not evolved.. he's the same player that has entered the NBA 4 years ago.. Varejao is just growing with no stop! I mean.. he's better than Splitter now.. I believe more effective than Nene.. second scoring option if Brazil's NT behind Leandro Barbosa.. Even thou Nene used to be my favorite player i will say Varejao now.. And YEAH.. i know Nene hasn't played in a while.. :curse:

Re: Nene vs. Verejao: Perception vs. Reality
Well at this very moment its defintely Carribean Cool, but Nene's still a freakish athlete for this size and can still potentially break out. But Verejao's been surprisingly showing improvement in his game.

Re: Nene vs. Verejao: Perception vs. Reality
Hopefully it's not. I bet Drew Gooden is thinking about holding off on signing that contract now, ha. Squeeze a few more mill out of Ferry if Verejao is hurt again.

Re: Nene vs. Verejao: Perception vs. Reality
This board has stooped to a new low: Varejao isn't even in the same league as Nene.
I wonder how much of you have actually watched Nene play - more than five games. I really do like Varejao and thought he was wonderful in the playoffs, but the two aren't even comparable. This question shouldn't ever have been asked. I will be revisiting this thread periodically through the season, as Nene makes this thread look as dumb as the "Lebron won't amount to anything" topic. There isn't a GM in the league who would take Varejao over Nene. Not one. |
