Re: Nene vs. Verejao: Perception vs. Reality
y.. Varejao was elected for the Dream Team of Stankovic Cup:
PG: Tony Parker (France) SG: Leandro Barbosa (Brazil) SF: Dirk Nowitsky (Germany) PF: Anderson Varejão (Brazil) C: Yao Ming (China) Its a very close pick in my opinion. Verejao put up 25-10 on Dirk. |

Varejao is nice, but Nene is beginning to destroy teams inside night after night. Like I said before, these two aren't even in the same league. Own up to your mistakes, now. |

Re: Nene vs. Verejao: Perception vs. Reality
Well this thread went no where. Not surprising, given it started with a conclusion and the assertion that anyone who disagrees is "misguided". Not quite the starting point of genuine conversation.

Re: Nene vs. Verejao: Perception vs. Reality
Cavs fans are becoming notorious for overrating their players, Verrejao is another player being overrated. Nene has skills, and plays solid defense, plus can dominate on the offensive end. Nene > Verejao anyday of the week.

Re: Nene vs. Verejao: Perception vs. Reality
Nene had another great performance tonight against the Warriors, 24 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists on 10/14 from the field

Re: Nene vs. Verejao: Perception vs. Reality
If you play for teams like the Nuggets/Sonics/Suns/Wiz you are going to score more than any other teams in the league, they go up and down the court. Does NENE play any defense at all? Andy V. can go up and down the floor as a big man and defend.
Not taking away Nene talents, but his offensive #'s are inflated, while AV doesnt start and gets you 6.5 and 6 a game. |

Does Nene play defense? He's great man on man but could improve as a help defender. I won't argue with you about his rebounds as Varejao is clearly the better player in that department. But people who underestimate Nene simply don't realize that this guy can destroy any team in the paint every single night. If he continues to get 12 plus touches a night and starts hitting more free throws, don't be surprised to see him average 20 a night at an outrageous percentage. The guy can do things in the post that Varejao can't imagine. And don't forget his passing ability. Despite all the time he has missed, he is still one of the best passing big men in the game. If you don't believe me, watch a few of his games. |

Re: Nene vs. Verejao: Perception vs. Reality
Nene is better and has a bigger upside. He's worth more than AV.
It's not really an argument. Their defensive games aren't that different to overshadow Nene's superior offensive abilities and skill set. |
