Re: Vince Carter - 40 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists
I can't believe this turned into a 4 page argument on leadership, primarily between 3-4 posters.
cpawfan probably means tat Carter can't go into a locker room and motivate. He can go onto the court, do a 360 and raise his teams energy level, but he's not a "Come on guys, we can do this!" type of leader.
He also isn't going to spend a bunch of time to teach the young players a thing or two, thats not his thing. He'll let them watch and learn, but he won't take them to the side and coach them. It didn't happen with Bosh, and it probably won't happen with anyone else anytime soon. That doesn't matter though, because he does his own thing.
As for Bosh, yea he is a leader. He tries to teach the young guys, and he tries to motivate his team both on and off the court. He also says all the right things which keeps negative media away from the team. Could he be better? Yea he could, but remember, this is his first season as a true leader for the team, and he's still very young so he'll get better and better as a player, and team leader.

Who said the Raptors had no leaders?
The Front Office brought in some mature, experienced players that know how to win and how to play as a team.

I don't know about that. Vince has many times said don't worry I guys we got this etc. He pretty much lifted the spirits for the 04-05 nets team, thats enough leadership to show me that he has it. Honestly if you replaced Wade today with that VInce I don't think Wade could have put his team into the playoffs, Vince was just that damn good that season. WAde said himself hes not a motivator. Vince has never said hes not a leader.

BBB.net poster has a higher opinion than JKidd who's been with Vince off and on the court? Thats interesting and laughable.
Best way is to dismiss him.

Exactly, but to cpawfan he was just filling his role. Ignoring the fact that his awsome play lifted the spirit of his teamates and thats leadership quality. Besides, this guy speaks like he's been with the NETS team in the locker room and saying that Kidd is a lier....aint that some funny ****?

There was nothing exact in that post. There was a perfect storm when Vince joined the Nets in that Kidd was just recovering from surgery and RJ went down. This has been proven many times over that Vince benefited greatly from playing with Kidd that season.
And yes, Kidd is very PC. Look at what he says about the big men on his team.

You value your opinion to the limit even if K-Mart disagrees. The fact that you think you're never wrong is pretty much all i need to know.

What I see is the Front Office wanting Bosh to be the leader and Bosh himself wanting to be the leader. Yes, Bosh is out there yelling at Bargnani if he makes a mistake, but the reason this is working is the team that was constructed.
Ford, Parker, Garbajosa, Rasho & Fred Jones are players that do their best to get along and to play team ball. I give Bosh credit for trying to be a leader, but I also give a lot credit to the veterans that are on the team for letting it work.

And Kenyon has what to do with this thread? Or are you so misguided that you believe bringing up his name will somehow bother me? Seriously, grow up.
So now you are claiming that you think you are ever wrong?

Fred Jones?
Alright now I know you haven't watched any Raptors ball this season.
I agree that having team players has helped to make Bosh a leader, just like having guys like Duncan and Parker help Manu to be a leader.
