Re: Josh Smith....

Not really understanding why people are questioning his mental capacity. He is 21 and has improved dramatically in his three NBA seasons to the point now where he's poised to be an All-Star caliber player. A lot of stupid stereotypes being thrown around and I don't like it. He's a great athlete, but this is also a player who eats, sleeps and thinks basketball. He wants to be great. You think blocking shots is all athleticism? If it was, how come Stromile Swift isn't great at it.

If you watch Hawks games, this guy makes plays on both ends of the court and he has way more ability (basketball and athletic) than Kirilenko. He's a 25 ppg scorer in the making.

Re: Josh Smith....

Yeah Josh Smith is going to be an absolute star once he hits his prime in about 4 years. His ability and potential is off the charts in my opinion.
He's only 21! Think about it.

Re: Josh Smith....

well Swift is a pretty good shot blocker
but I agree Josh Smith is poised to be an all star and better than Kirilenko
even though one thing is Kirilenko is one of the smartest basketball players in the NBA and i don't Josh Smith and most others can compete with him on that...

speedy when fully healthy should help a lot. they need to trade one of their wings though.

They should have taken Sergio Rodriguez, major screwup teams passing on this kid.

I question his mental capacity to become a star, because I've watched him play, and I've seen the types of decisions he makes on the court.

I also think the lack of any sort of credible coaching definitely has its effects on his game

Re: Josh Smith....

ya hawks need a coach
mike woodson is a solid assistant but not really any better than an interim coach

you think they'd be a top 5 team???
they'd probably be a lottery team
well the same thing

Josh Smith 21
Childress 22
JJ 26
Zaza 23
M.Williams 20(those are estimates too lazy to look up their actual ages)

so ya im sayin in 2-3 years with the right draft choices and no really stupid trades/signings they will be a solid playoff team
top 5 east in the east IMO
Billups, Hamilton, Prince, Wallace, and Sheed are different people from Smtih, Childress, Johnson, Pachulia, and Marvin Williams.

Swift's 1.3 career block average disagrees. Also, the fact that he has no defensive presence whatsoever disagrees.
