Josh Smith....
Josh Smith had an unbelievable line tonight; 26 points/17 rebounds/5 assists/4 steals/3 blocks with over 50% shooting. In March so far he's averaging 21.6 ppg/9.4 rpg/2.7 apg/1.3 spg/3.3 bpg/53.3 FG%/46.2 3P% (7 games). Actually, the last game in February he had a near triple-double with 17 points/9 rebounds/9 assists/5 blocks.
Keeping in mind he is only 21, how do you see him turning out?

Re: Josh Smith....
He reminds me of a Marion or a younger Gerald Wallace, that is assuming Wallace is for real this year. I've heard the Kirilenko comparision too, but Kirilenko is totally different on offense.
He's a good rebounder and help defender, a guy fast and athletic enough to score despite his shooting deficiencies. He can still work on his shooting too. He had a similiar streak either earlier this year or last year where he played out of his mind.
He's a long athletic ball of energy, like a shawn marion, same skillset too. I wonder if he can grow to be a defensive anchor. He's long and athletic, so he'll get blocks and jump in passing lanes for steals, and with his size he could shut most of the 3s in the league down if he wanted. I don't know if they're playing him at the 3 or 4, but I would definitely play him like a big 3.
I think ultimately he could be an all-star player, but it depends on how often he can put play like this together, he's still a bit streaky. In his prime he's a strong 3rd banana on a contender, ala Marion (again).
P.s. Bilas looks like quite an idiot.

Re: Josh Smith....
He good, he real good.
I don't see him as a #1 option, but he is very fantastic & exciting to watch.
And Dre, his shooting actually has improved. That's why he is capable of scoring 26 points or 30 points, as he did in the previous game. but to answer your question, they have been playing him at the 4 out of necessity.
And he's doing this in a team with no coaching, no structure, and no point guard.

Players like him can thrive in chaos because he's all over the place anyway.

Exactly, with no structure his natural athletic abilities can take over.
I must admit that i don't watch Atlanta that much so how is he for smarts, does he seem like a smart player or just all athlete?

Re: Josh Smith....
Hes one of the best small forwards in the league already
1. Lebron James
2. Tracy McGrady
3. Carmelo Anthony
4. Shawn Marion
5. Rashard Lewis
6. Josh Smith
I can see him overtake these guys in a few years. If he develops a cross over he will be unstoppable.

I am not sure what you mean by smarts. He has other aspects to his game other than just being an athlete. He's a basketball player.
