What's there to analyze? The Suns have been to the WCF the last two years, have a much better record than Detroit, and have only a few games to the east all season. Just because they had one off night and lost to Detroit, after just coming off an exhausting doubt OT win against the best team in the league, doesn't mean they're "pretenders".
It's cute that you're sticking up to your E-girlfriend though.

Classic useless Kidcanada post filled with an ad hominem attack instead of anything of substance
Look at what you wrote about Phoenix and compare that to Detroit in the last 3 years: the pistons have won an NBA title, got to another NBA finals which they barely lost in 7 games, and 3 straight ECF. This year just like a few years ago they added a PF that fits there system perfectly since then they've put as a good record as anybody outside of Dallas. Watch more NBA outside of Nash and a few Raptors games: again when was the last time you posted anything substantial in terms of basketball outside of Nash and a few Raptors post?

Did I ever claim that Detroit wasn't a contender? No..so why are you defending them? My point is that you're going to have to dig deeper than one loss to Detroit to call the Suns pretenders.
Only someone with a serious eastern bias would label the Suns pretenders and Detroit contenders, IMO... When it's pretty obvious both are.
And just to get you off my back - I post on topics that I'm most passionate about. I watch plenty of NBA games(for the record), but I don't have time to post on every topic. If you have some sort of issue with that, which for some strange reason it seems like you have, then PM me or something. I don't see how your little grudge has anything to do with the topic at hand.

Detroit's been to 4 straight ECF. Wow@ these Pho and Western confrence huggers. East has won 2 of 3 championships and was 7 minutes away from winning 3/3. Regular season records mean little but I guess it fills that void in fans who's team always come up short. Pho got their butts whooped plain and simple. Don't sympathize with the excuse of an emotional draining OT when they had a day+ to rest. And it was at home with Detroit closing out a western road trip, come'on. Just say good game and we got locked up and exploited.

What do you want Suns fans to say? That this game represents where both teams stand? I mean cmon..get real pal. Thr Suns had a bad game. If the teams were to meet this wouldn't be typical outcome.

Instead of claiming bias and that Phoenix had an off night (which does happen although usually not at home): what about giving Detroit credit? All I hear is excuses: Phoenix was tired despite not playing the day before and of all things Detroit playing there fifth straight road game w/o Billups for most of the game. You do realize Detroit beat the Suns in each of there games last year as well.

I didn't realize you edited you're post. If you want people to get "off you're back" post something with substance and not filled with ad hominems/silly personal attacks. Particularly when you try to claim bias and the only thing you ever post is supporting one team

Re: Detroit to top Phoenix?
I thought it was a statement game for the Pistons; they played well, shut down the Suns and ran them off their own home court. I don't believe however, that this is how each game would end and I need remind you that the series is 1-1, both without Chauncey Billups. But those are just excuses, no matter which way you cut it so lets not be hypocritical. If you're missing a player, you're missing a player. You still lost. If you're tired, you're tired. You still lost. So let's be clean, cut and to the point - the series is tied.
What do you want to say, however? That the Detroit Pistons are better than the Phoenix Suns? Err, that's not how league standings work. The Suns have a better record than every team in the league save Dallas. That entitles them to being second best until the playoffs start.
If the Pistons want to make a statement concerning their place, they'll have to surpass the Suns in standings or wait until the playoffs and go farther than the Suns there or just win the title.
Looking at past seasons is rather silly too. The last three years would allow the Suns to pretty much say they're 6-6 with the Dallas Mavericks, have been to the WCF and etc etc. It allows the Spurs and Pistons a title. No, that's not how it works. This is the here, the now and the Suns are in second place overall.
Move on.
