Why would we send Kidd to hell after all he has done for us?

Re: Atlanta Hawks
I would really feel bad for Kidd if he was ever traded to the Hawks. Although I wouldn't mind there pick and Josh Smith.

If the Hawks are able to hold on to their pick by getting a top three pick, that will mean that the next year pick will belong to Phoenix no matter what. So knowing that they don't get a pick in 2008, I don't know if I can subscribe to the "they don't need another rookie" thought just because the Hawks are a team lacking in talent & won't be getting another first round pick the season after this. And unfortunately for Atlanta, I think what will likely happen is they will send their pick to Phoenix this year. And because the Hawks ownership is still in limbo, I think it will be difficult for them to make many changes regarding the front office (which is the root of the problem). For the Hawks, it really is #1 or bust.

Only reason I say they don't need a rookie is because of the rookies that are on top this year. If they could get Oden, then good, but I doubt it. That leaves swingmen at the top of the board, no real point guards...now they could reach for Horford or Hibbert, or they could trade down for one of them...either way if they actually have their pick...I think ultimately they won't end up getting what they need the most.

Re: Atlanta Hawks
I don't know if Horford would be that much of a reach at #3, if the Hawks were able to jump up that far.. I mean, he is another forward but his game is less perimeter oriented and it seems like he prefers to play in the post like a traditional power forward. Trades would have to be made if he were the pick. I think that Josh Smith at the three and Al Horford at the 4 could be a tough defensive pair potentially.
EDIT: Then again, maybe not such a good idea. They are both sort of strong forwards that can't really shoot the outside shot very well. Kind of similar players if you think about it.

And Deron has led Utah to 48 wins...either one would've been a better pick than Marvin. It made little sense to take Marvin at the time and it is making even less sense now.

Re: Atlanta Hawks
At the time I could see why they did what they did. Williams was projected to be the type of talent you couldn't ignore...to this point it's not coming to fruition, but at the time I liked the decision.

yall are acting like he's a bust, who knows he might still end up better than Paul, it seems like Paul has reach his limit, I meAN he didn't make a jump from year one to year 2. He was set for a breakout year, he just had some injury problems. If he could work on his game in the summer, and stay healthy, he wil have a breakout year next year.

I never said anything either way about how I think he'll pan out.
