Re: Dirk not deserving MVP?
To me Nash is still the MVP. When I watch Dallas and Phx play I know one team relies on their best player far more so than the other team does.
But Dirk will win it not because he left little doubt in voters' minds but more due to Dallas' record and the fact that nobody wants to give Nash something that wasn't accomplished by greater players of the past.
Dirk's play over the last month has been mediocre and he's been particularly bad in 'big' moments. Especially on National TV. No killer instinct.

Re: Dirk not deserving MVP?
Nash is the MVP. The Suns are kind of like a really 'pimped out' Mercedes. Really nice parts and acessories everywhere you look. But if you take out it's engine(Steve Nash), all the other parts as nice as they are, are useless. It's been proven time and time again this year and every year since Nash has been in Phoenix. When Nash is out, the Suns have sucked, and sucked bad. Most of the time when Nash is resting on the bench, that's when the other teams make their runs. Guys have career years when they play with Nash. When they leave Nash other than Joe Johnson they go right back to sucking. When the competition is at highest peak, Nash always shows up. See the recent games with Dallas. Look at his playoff numbers. Just look at how much effect he has on that team and how lost they are without him.
So you got a guy who makes his team what it is. Makes everyone better. Has great numbers, and shows up in the clutch. Sounds like someone who needs his 3rd Most 'VALUABLE" Player award.

That is the truth, at both ends of the floor. He even made Smush Parker better, remember Kobe failed at that.

Re: Dirk not deserving MVP?
And in head-to-head matchups in the last month with Dirk, Nash schooled Dirk on closing out close games and then the Mavericks got blasted when they visited the Suns on April 1. While some of you think it's unfair to judge a MVP race based on a couple games, realize that no matter the sport, games late in the season matter more. This was Dirk's opportunity to win the MVP without a seed of doubt, and all he did was remind us that he's still the same guy who couldn't finish off the Heat in the Finals.
That right there puts Nash over Dirk IMO.....that whole paragraph does it for me....Nash is a better player than Dirk (Opinion), and Nash closed out the game, and his team was the Better Team, with the Better MVP candidate on it, game over.

No. He's a great player, but he is neither the best or most valuable. Giving it to Dirk would just be because people/voters feel either Nash shouldn't get 3 in a row, they don't like Kobe, or Duncan is just too boring and old news instead of really thinknig Dirk is the MVP.

Ok, whatever. We'll just have to see. I've been through it inside and out with this MVP thing, I'm quite tired of debating it, I just want it to happen and be done.

Yeah, I'm sure you have. But don't worry, Dirk will get his sympathy MVP this year so you can be happy.
