Re: Should you stay a fan when your team leaves your area?
I would probably root for the Spurs or 1 other team from Texas if the Hawks moved away.
Now that I think of it.. I really really think the Hawks should move away.

Re: Should you stay a fan when your team leaves your area?
I was born and raised in New Jersey as a Net fan, and while they're moving out of the State, they're moving 10 miles away to Brooklyn in what will be the one of the best if not best arena in the league I'll still be going to the games, the only thing that bothers me is that it won't have "New Jersey" in its name.

Well to be fair, that was after Stern changed the league policy on carrying weapons and KG could no longer distract Zach with his pump, uzi and couple M-16s.

Re: Should you stay a fan when your team leaves your area?
You know, honestly, this would be the equivalent of me getting upset because the Celtics were going to start playing in Worcester. Or the equivalent of football fans in New York City getting upset at the Jets or Giants because they're playing on the other side. It's not like they're moving to Seattle to replace the Oklahoma City Spittoons. (Of course, as a Red Sox fan I have a slightly different take, Col. Jacob Ruppert used to hold the mortgage on Fenway Park, and in 1921/1922 with Ban Johnson trying to force the Yankees out of the Polo Grounds the Col. and then Red Sox owner Harry Frazee had a tentative agreement to switch cities. Meaning that I might have grown up rooting for a 26 time world champion and New Yorkers would be even more neurotic. )

No.
Who in their right mind would want to be a Memphis Grizzlies fan?

If the Mavericks ever move out, I'll turn to Houston or San Antonio (after I grieve for about 5 years)

Re: Should you stay a fan when your team leaves your area?
The concept of being a loyal fan is one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard of. It's a business, and the orinization doesn't give a **** about its fans, other than making money off of them. If they aren't giving you a good product, or a convenient one, you'd be a fool to support it.
Of course, I'm a loyal sixers fan for no real reason, so that makes me a fool as well.

Pray that the Nets get out of jersey. It's a swamp down there. Going to brooklyn, with all of that revenue, are you crazy? You know how much publicity they'd get? Plus they'd have a little Battle of NY with the Knicks.
