Re: Andrei Kerilenko
His offensive skill is severely lacking, and for whatever reason has regressed this season dramatically. Back when he was putting up huge numbers, he had to get those for the team to win. Now, they have thoroughbreds they can use to get the job done on a more reliable basis. Right now the only spot he can fit into in the offense is shooting from 18 feet because he's wide open, and I'd let him take that shot if I was the man guarding him because he's terrible at it.
He seriously needs to tune up his offensive game. If he had a decent midrange shot he would be a much better asset to the Jazz. He's no less the hussle player he used to be, it's just that the offense isn't featuring him anymore so he's not going to get the numbers he used to. I think right now if you insert Ronnie Brewer into his place, you really wouldn't even notice a difference. I would even say that Brewer has a better outside shot at this point, too.
By the way, Deron's rookie contract expires after next season, so that's one remaining season. Larry Miller, the owner, has already stated that Deron is not going anywhere and he'll get whatever he wants from the organization. If it means trading Kirilenko... then whatever. Kirilenko is still a supreme defender and hussle player, though. He's not nearly as offensively skilled as one was once led to believe. I think if Kirilenko were to head to the Bobcats then Charlotte would suddenly be a pretty dangerous team (to give an example), just due to their style of play. He, Gerald Wallace and Okafor would be the scariest frontcourt in the NBA. Their defensive presence would intimidate any player.

Well, if they did that, they'd have to find a few contracts to actually send to the Jazz, as the biggest contract they have is Gerald Wallace's at a bit over 6 million. Chances are they'll be using up a lot of their cap space this off season getting a big free agent or a couple mid-range free agents too, so I don't know that it's actually feasible.
That said, it's a great idea.

Huh? Trading Kirilenko for Ricky Davis? Sloan would run his *** out of town so fast it'd just be a contract dump. If they are doing that, just dump Kirilenko and save everyone the trouble.

Exactly what I was thinking. How would Jefferson fit on the Jazz, though?

RJ might be able to play some SG. Who starts at SG for that team? Harpring, Giricek or Fischer? Anyhow...you have Boozer in the low post--Okur on the perimeter....a slasher type like RJ should fit in pretty well. Judging from their first 2 playoff games, they're clearly putting too much pressure on Booz to carry the offense.
I just think AK47 would be an amazing fit for NJ and he would rejuvenate his career playing with Kidd.

How would RJ fit on the Jazz? How about at SF every night for 35-40 minutes a game?

Don't be surprised to see RJ dealt for AK47.

Beastly triple-single for AK last night. Good to see he's back.
