if Boston gets #1 or #2, I seriously doubt they make the Ray Allen deal, and in turn, probably don't get KG.
At the time, there was so much talk about how the Boston franchise was set back for 'x' years after missing out on the top 2, but now they've traded themselves into a possible 3-4 year window to win a championship after being argubly the worst team in the league last year.
Re: Remember the pity for Boston after the Lottery?
As much as I wanted Oden or Durant, I'm sorry, I'll take KG and Allen teaming up with Paul any day. It's been twenty years and no provided those three remain healthy, I've got three to five years of a solid basketball team in my home town that can contend each year.
Re: Remember the pity for Boston after the Lottery?
Yeah, it's pretty amazing how everything's changed for them. They were the laughingstock of the league at the time when they weren't able to land Oden or Durant. I don't think I've seen a franchise's perception change so dractically in such short amount of time. Adding KG and Ray will do that to you I guess.

Re: Remember the pity for Boston after the Lottery?
As a basketball fan, I'm happy for Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Garnett, and especially the Celtics. It also helps that I will be attending UMass and most definitely intend on catching some games . However, Ainge shouldnt have any allusions of these 3 alone being enough to capture a ring. They are as deep as a shallow street puddle.
Re: Remember the pity for Boston after the Lottery?
I had no pity i laughed.
I was saying it served them right.
Crazy how things turn out though.
Sonics trade Allen for the 5th pick & pick a player who will be little more than a reserve to Durant. While Celts got a All Star.
They must been feeling good with an upcoming Al but Garnett >>>> Al
I wonder if they will regret it in 3 seasons though????
