Rumor: Marion for Walker/Haslem/Filler
I heard this rumor today. Heat is trying to acquire Shawn Marion.
Marion for Walker/Haslem/Filler

i dont think phoenix will do it. walker isn't fit for any team. haslem would be a nice big body for them though.

I think Haslem would do wonders for there Interior now that Kurt Thomas is gone but this trade is still too lopsided to be done

Walker's primary value comes as an expiring contract on draft day 2009. Aside from that I'm not sure what the attraction would be for Phoenix. Dorrell Wright doesn't seem to be enough to tip the scales.

Oh my god...walker on a team with a free license to shoot. That's a recipe for disaster.

He'll already have expired by then Draft day 2008 he'll be an expiring. As for the trade, it'd be ridiculous for Phoenix to do Walker/Haslem/Doleac (filler) for Marion. But amazing for the Heat! JWill/DWade/Dorell Wright/Marion/Shaq is one sick fast break team, even with Shaq not running at all (he'd throw outlet passes, very well at that).

Walker's contract contains a team option for the 2009-10 season, meaning that he can be dealt on draft day 2009 as an expiring contract. Those team options are the gold standard in expiring deals (as any team that trades for him on draft day 2009 can simply decline his option a few days later).

Re: Rumor: Marion for Walker/Haslem/Filler
Obviously, the Suns want more for Marion but if the keep him and chemistry problems flair up during the season they probably won't be able to do any better than this package. I wouldn't mind seeing Walker on this Suns team, it does fit his strengths, 3 point shooting and passing. Haslem is also a good fit in Phoenix.
