circumstancial. theres a difference when talking about your magic having a revamped roster, new coach, and player development to a warriors team that has essentially been playing the exact same way they did last year and were able to finish the season 16-5. richardson is the only rotation player missing this season, and his absense is negated by monta progressing and azubuike turning into a legit nba player. the fact is, the mavs didn;t match up well with them last year, and the same thing can be said about this season.
vs. Phoenix
@ Sacramento
vs. Houston
@ Seattle
vs. Orlando
vs. Milwaukee
vs. Miami
4 of those home games (Hou, Orl, Mil, & Mia) are the 2nd of back-to-back road games for each visiting club.
Couple that with S-Jax playing his first games at home for the season and the momentum of completing a 4-1 road trip (first winning road trip of 5 games or greater for the W's since the 1980-81 season), and I think a 6-1 record isn't entirely outlandish at all.
Then again, Nellie could end up running Baron into the ground before the end of this 7-game period and the W's are worse off than the team that started the season sans Jackson at 1-6.
haha hard to believe a stephen jackson can make your team that much better but he does make a big difference for the warriors.
has he finally changed!!!?!?!

Say what you will about the guy - so far this year, Warriors are 1-6 without him, 4-1 (all on the road) with him. The proof (as they say) is in the pudding.
So you just ignore that the Warriors have won 5 of their last six against NBA teams and only use the first six games without Jackson. Hmmm...
I guess it's a good thing Dallas and Phoenix didn't quit on their seasons last year after their 0-4 and 1-5 starts respectively.
All I'm saying is that these are some quite convenient arguments for you.
Last season, Golden State needed a miracle just to get into the playoffs. Dallas and Phoenix were far better teams (not head to head) so everyone knew they would be just fine by season's end. Golden State is still a huge question mark, and saying that they are going to beat 2/3 out of Orlando, Houston and Phoenix is really a big stretch.
When Jackson was out, the Warriors looked awful. I can't imagine another 6'7", mediocre SF being added to their roster really being the night and day difference for that team.
If they go 6-1 over the next 7 games, I'll gladly admit that I was wrong about this team. But, at this point, I don't even view them as a playoff team. 6-1 for a non-playoff team is pretty unusual.
Now that win loss record is a little skewed because both Baron Davis and Jason Richardson were in and out of the lineup, up until the Dubs went on their 16-5 run to make the playoffs last year.
So far this season these are Jackson's numbers, although his shooting numbers are down, he is still getting his NBA sea legs under him, but it must be noted that the Warriors are 4-1 with him (only loss at Boston) and in their last 26 NBA regular season games, they have gone 20-6 with Jackson in the lineup. I don't know if you can just say it's a fluke and that he's mediocre.
Jackson may be a bonehead at times, but he is important to their team and is a hard worker. The guy has a championship ring and I believe that even without looking at Jackson's numbers, that the man is a glue guy.

Stephen Jackson makes the difference for the Warriors, he is not a stopper or a great scorer by any means, but sometimes he can play like a man possessed. His impact for Golden State goes beyond stats which is why he has become a little bit underrated with all the non-basketball stuff going on. One thing you can't deny is that the teams he has played for have been winning games.

Hm, you may be right. But, wasn't that what they were getting from Azibiuke (spelling is wrong, I know)?
This was the only game I felt the Warriors would lose and they blew the doors off of Phoenix. It wouldn't surprise me now to see them at 12-7 heading into their game at the Lakers. The Dubs are 5-1 since Jackson came back.
