The Celtics are just not dominating the way a Championship contender should.
They lost to the Magics and Cavs and almost lost to Toronto and the Bobcats.
Boston will reach the Finals to say the least, but I dont think they can beat any Western Power House. (San Antonio,Phoenix and even Houston)

11-2 is dominating enough for me. Hey Spurs lost to the Kings on Monday, Dallas lost to the Wizards. The Cavs are better than either of those teams.

Re: Boston Celtics are not what we thought they are
Where is the surprise with the Celts? It's not like they are guaranteed 60 wins this season.
They've still got a weak bench, dodgy bigs supporting KG, an inexperienced scoring point, and three all stars aged 30+ with fairly significant mileage from years of carrying various lousy teams on their back.
The line is still the same: if the Big Three don't stay healthy and play in harmony, or if the rest of the team comes up short, the Celts will have trouble coming out of the East let alone taking the title.

Steve Kerr was good when he played for Phil Jackson, trash everywhere else.
Parrish was a 12th man.
Dele was there half a season.
Kukoc was good, outside of that they had a bunch of throwaways from lottery teams like Kerr, Randy Brown, Weington, Longely (though he started), Buechler, Jason Caffey (who they drafted and Warriors overpaid and he never did crap again).

Kerr was so money on the 2003 Spurs champion team. hit a lot of clutch playoff baskets for them.

Re: Boston Celtics are not what we thought they are
Wow.
First of all, the Celtics still have the best record in the league.
Second of all, it was a close *** game with a top team on their home floor. I don't think you guys watched the game. It went overtime, and the game would be a W for the Celtics if Allen didn't miss 2 clutch free throws, incredibly uncharacteristic of him. Another thing that was incredibly uncharacteristic was the game that Gooden had. He deserves props and all, but there's no way he'll play like that for a 7 game series. And there's no way Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will play like that in a 7 game series either.
You guys will be eating your words once the Celtics beat the Cavs on Sunday.

Nah, he was a third string point guard that had one superb game against Dallas.

Re: Boston Celtics are not what we thought they are
Unless everybody thought the Celtics were a lock for the NBA championship, then they're exactly what you thought they were - a top team in the EC with as good a chance to come out of the conference as any.
