It was posted on this board just after it happened, and that's when the "Wade Travels" fiasco began.

I'm sure the refs allowed him FOUR EXTRA STEPS...think about how blatantly over-obvious that would be, these are professional referees.

It's not Wade vs. Lebron if they're on the same team.

Re: Prove To Me That Wade Travels.
You don't get 2 and 1/2 steps in the NBA, you get a 2-count rhythm
Video #1
The first count occurs when he finishes his dribble and starts his spin move. Since the ball is in his left hand while his right foot is still on the floor, that is the first count. The video incorrectly attributes this as establishing a pivot. It is not a pivot because his right (supposed pivot) foot leaves the ground and then reestablishes on the completion of the spin. Since this foot leaves the ground and then comes back down, that is the second count and his pivot foot. He steps through with his left leg and lifts his pivot off the ground, if he were to shoot or pass at that point he would be OK, but he steps all the way through and brings his pivot (right) foot back to the ground to collect himself on two feet. The moment that right foot touches the ground again it is a travel. He travels. No doubt about it. For that play to be legal he needs to keep his right foot on the ground on the spin move. When he fails to do that, it counts as a jump stop, not a pivot.
There is no way you can argue that play isn't travelling.
Video #2
Exactly the same deal. His foot leaves the ground on his spin/pivot, when it comes back down that is his established as his pivot and he doesn't get to move it again unless it's a step through to a pass or a shot. He travels.
Dwyane Wade does this all the time, you could call a travel on almost every move he makes to the basket.

Please explain what a "2 count rhythm" is...I've never once heard that in my lifetime of playing basketball

It's NBA specific. The rule is worded differently in high school and college. The 2 count rhythm actually gives players more flexiblity with their pivot foot so sometime a play that would be called travelling in college is legal in the NBA, but never the reverse.
Basically, the count begins once you have picked up your dribble and the ball is in your hands, the first foot to touch ground after your hand touches the ball at the completion of a dribble is the first count (or if a foot is already on the ground, as in the case of a power dribble or the "spin" move Wade uses here, that is the first count). If you come to a stop on the count of one, you can pivot with either foot. The next foot (or both feet if at the same time) to touch the ground is the second count. When stopping on the second count you can only pivot with your rear foot. If your feet come together under you, you pivot with either. Once a pivot foot is established, you can lift it only as part of a step through move. If you return the pivot to the floor without shooting or passing, it's travelling.

HE doesn't travel any more than Hakeem used to.

Re: Prove To Me That Wade Travels.
I think one reason he gets away with the travel (and I agree with those who say those are travels on the vid) is that he's hopping from one spot to another using one leg. Like in the first video he takes one step and while pivoting lands on the same leg (which is two steps right there) AND then takes another full step using the other leg. It's probably very hard to for refs to see that compared to traveling the old fashioned way
