Nah I didn't do it.
It's really no different than this one though.

PLEASE tell me you're joking. Do you know how many players have scored 30 points in a game this season? Lebron AVERAGES 30 ppg.
Do you know how many people have put up a 30/20 games in the last TWO years?
One. Dwight Howard has done it twice.
It's like someone making a thread about Kobe scoring 60 then someone getting mad that a thread is locked saying Caron Butler had 35.

Re: Dwight With 30 Points 23 Rebounds
Dwight continues to have a young Shaq-type of season. Just sick!

Howard is creating many of his own opportunities, but he's getting the first look far more often in half-court sets. It doesn't hurt to have a couple of bona fide shooters on the wings either (however streaky).

It is a combination of a lot of things. One of them being the coach. Last year Orlando was one of the worst 3pt shooting teams in the league. Not necessarily in percentages but attempts. Only Nelson and Hedo really shot any 3s last year. This year everyone is shooting them and at a decent percentage. So that has opened things up.
Howard isn't doing that much differently than last year. But he has made immense improvements in learning where to position himself for the ball and has gotten way better at establishing position down low. And his finishing has improved. Just goes to show to improve you don't necessarily need to learn a bunch of new skills .. like shooting jumpers, etc ... his scoring is way up and he's only taken a few jumpers this year that I can remember.
Scary thing is he has a lot of room for offensive improvement ... and he is already this good.
At this point I'm not sure of the likelihood but I don't think we can assume Dwight can't reach Shaq's level of overall dominance even if it takes him a couple extra years (in age) to get to that level.

So in essence Brian Hill is a terrible coach and Penny was right to get him fired.

Yes and no. Brian Hill improved the team's defense immensely. And drew up some great winning plays at the end of games, particularly at the beginning of last season. But overall I think he was way to restrictive on the offensive end. That's why I said this summer I expected Jameer to have a bounceback year. Hill put too many restrictions on him instead of just letting him play.
Here was Hill's offense ... post-up Dwight, post-up Hill, post-up Turk, post-up Hill, pick and roll, post-up Turk, post Dwight, post Dwight, post Hill, post Darko, post Turk, pick and roll, post Battie, post Howard, post Hill, post Hedo ... you get the point. The game has changed, Hill's offense hasn't.

I don't know if I was missing something about the Gordon thread, but it seems to me that a Gordon fan just wanted to let us know that Gordon had a great game. Same thing here right?
I don't disagree with you closing the other thread, in fact I support it. The reason why I'm giving some grief in this particular thread is it seems like Dwight fans have this perception that the general population doesn't realize he was good. JNice I think was offended when someone said he was Ben Wallace +8 points. Ben in his prime was a damn beast so that shouldn't be taken as an insult.
30-20 is newsworthy, but I don't want a repeat of last year when they were starting threads after 20-10 games.

The ref thought otherwise, so I'll add him to my "Phoenix Suns Homer" club for disputing the all-knowing Hairy Midget.
Listen... Dwight did push him but not as hard as Amare made it out to be. However, he still pushed him and Amare made Dwight pay for that mistake by flopping drastically to catch the refs attention. Only a "homer" would say Dwight was just extending his arms.
Anyways, as for the original topic, Dwight was a beast that game and really the sky is the limit for this guy if/when he expands his offensive game even more.
