Interesting per 40 stats
I realize that extrapolating stats is not really an accurate measure for a number of reasons (particularly in the case of "energy" guys), but I just calculated a few guys numbers per 40 minutes and I found a few of them surprising, personally, (even from guys like Manu and Amare who have already been all-stars) or surprisingly bad.
Manu Ginobili: 27ppg, 6.5rpg, 6.0apg, 2.4spg
Amare Stoudemire: 28.6ppg, 12.2rpg, 2.5bpg
Jason Collins: 2.7ppg, 4.7rpg, 0.2bpg
Eric Snow: 2.9ppg, 4.7apg, .083% fg's
TJ Ford: 20.2ppg, 11.3apg, 3.2rpg
Jose Calderon: 15.2ppg, 12apg, 4.3rpg
Ronnie Brewer: 19.6ppg, 3.8rpg, 3.6apg, 3.3spg
LaMarcus Aldridge: 21.6ppg, 9.0rpg, 1.4bpg
Andrew Bynum: 16.9ppg, 15.7rpg, 2.8bpg
Rashad McCants: 22.4ppg, 4.1rpg, 2.4apg
And then of course Mark Madsen's torrential 0.9 points/40 min

Yes, he does.

Well, in Amare's case because he started off the season averaging about 14 a game and looked pretty bad, early on. He also sat out a few games because of his knee and most Suns fans thought that was going to be a lingering issue this year. He also has a rep for being a poor rebounder.
For Manu, it's just surprising he doesn't get a little bit more respect (I'm sure it has something to do with the flopping issue) for all he does. I really think there are only 2 wings in the league who have more (positive) impact on the game than he does. A lot of it doesn't show up in the stat sheet, and yet those are some crazy numbers.

only two wing players have more positive impact on the game than manu? come on now.
this season, manu hasn't really gotten the respect he deserves for the numbers he's been putting up. but really over the past several years, he's gotten much more respect than he's deserved so i don't really mind. it is interesting though that in by far the best season of his career(at least based on what he's done so far) he gets the least amount of hype. if he keeps this up, he'll actually earn that all star appearance that he didn't deserve before.

So far this year, yes. He's been unreal. Maybe 3 wings.

Re: Interesting per 40 stats
those are some cool stats, i thought it was going to be something stupid along the lines of
"this is the 1st time someone in the month of december does____while playing under _____in only his ____year in the ____Conference___since____did it in _______
"
i find it really annoying when they talk about those kinda stats on Sportscenter geesh

i have to assume the two are lebron/kobe. so you're saying manu has more of an impact than tmac, carmelo, iverson, redd, kevin martin, caron butler, richard jefferson, paul pierce, ray allen, joe johnson, and others. now he has been better than a lot of those guys up to this point, but i'd say at best you could put him at 5 behind tmac and carmelo as well.
