Re: Cavs without Lebron: Worst team in the NBA?

Theres not much of an argument here for Larry Hughes...hes just straight up ****.

Gooden, although dumb, is still gettin u 14 and 10 this year...not bad from your power forward. Big Z is also playin well.

Everything looks worse without ur stud out there, its when the studs back that u have cause for concern (see: Miami).

Re: Cavs without Lebron: Worst team in the NBA?

The Cavs are without James (their best scorer), Larry Hughes (their 2nd best perimeter scorer when healthy), and arguably their best big man in Varejao. It isn't really that surprising that they are struggling.

And Carter's not even the Nets best player. Hell, the Nets are going to be sub-mediocre as long as Nenad Krstic is out. They have NO room for injuries on that roster.

Just wanted to point out that this is false.

Re: Cavs without Lebron: Worst team in the NBA?

PG - Daniel Gibson/Eric Snow
SG - Larry Hughes/Devin Brown
SF - Aleksander Pavlovic/Ira Newble
PF - Drew Gooden/Anderson Varejao
C - Zydrunas Ilgauskas/Dwayne Jones

I think it's safe to say that if your best player is Anderson Varejao, and your best offensive player is Daniel Gibson or Zydrunas Ilgauskas, you're probably the worst team in the league. At least Miami had Shaq, Haslem, Alonzo and Ricky Davis when Wade was out. The Nets had Kidd and Jefferson without Carter. Cleveland has Varejao and Daniel Gibson. That's crazy. Not to mention this is more or less the same team that went to the Finals, minus LeBron of course.

The LeBronless Cavs are still able to beat the Wolves any day.

The Cavs are averaging 78 pts/game and giving up 97 pts/game (-19) (and it's worse than that because that includes the half Lebron did play against Detroit when they were able to hang with them). When Lebron went out at halftime, the Cavs got outscored by 30 in the second half. On the other hand, the Wolves are averaging 93 pts/game and giving up 103 pts/game (-10).

By no means is it a foregone conclusion that the Cavs would be able to beat the Wolves, or even compete with them for that matter. The Cavs are, on average, getting outscored by twice as much as the Wolves are.

Re: Cavs without Lebron: Worst team in the NBA?

I know what you mean, Brandname, but the Wolves cannot finish what they started. They started off strong but slowly and slowly diminishes from the strong start and then all of a sudden they only scored 6 points in either 3rd or 4th quarter. Not only that they're a weak team in the 2nd half, but they have a poor coach in Wittman, and then injuries.

I think I would actually like to see the two match up. I'd like to see a team take us seriously for once, rather than just joking around with each other and jacking up shots and still winning by 20.

Caron Butler was pretty much laughing for half of the game the other night. The Wiz didn't take us seriously at all, even without Gil. It's embarrassing to watch. The rest of the Cavs should be ashamed of themselves, but moreso Danny Ferry should be ashamed. He has had some opportunities, and some of his bad signings weren't necessarily entirely his fault, but he's got to figure out a way to be proactive in getting talent here.
